I was afraid you would recommend an Apple product... I just don't want any of it. To me it feels like Apple forcing me into an ecosystem that is transforming everything that I do and keeping all other options at bay. Do you have a similar recommendation for a non-Apple product?

I hear you on the apple ecosystem but the processor and battery life are literally twice as good as anything else you can currently get on the market.

@@RunningRemote I recognize their quality indeed. It's their suffocating other options that's suffocating me :)

I got the M1 PRO 256/16gb Ram... It's insane. It literally kills my Dell XPS 15 (top spec 2019) by far... The difference between the 2 is not 10%... It's so much higher... I had a 30 min video project the other day, the Dell had tried nearly 3 hours to export it. And failed, because it over heated. The M1 PRO, from a slow USB harddrive (couldn't be bothered copying it over) did the entire project in around 15-17 min... So solid export of 60 FPS... It's madness! Certainly the best remote work laptops, to get the M1's...

Totally with you, m1 is a game changer.

I'm an App Developer and I have the same model. It's able to handle everything I throw at it. I have 8 - 10 virtual desktops running all the time. My only complain is support for multiple external monitors. Hopefully, the new upcoming models fix that.

@@abdullahdeshmukh99 Sure... But I've just found a great 4K 29" Samsung monitor - and then have the laptop on a level holder next to it... Using the laptop as the secondary screen. Even while developing it works quite well... Laptop as the testing screen and the 4K monitor for coding :-)

An MSI GS65 32Gb. Best laptop I’ve ever had. A beast and my remote working workhorse!

I actually just bought the new m1 max. I'll review it soon.
