I have found Malz to be a good counter, nothing he does can be reflected, she she can immune some damage, but not all of it, and once his dot gets rolling can out push her in lane with using little Mana, while she has to spam until she gets items to clear the wave.

The last Malz did not have much fun against me with Mel on mid though. Catalyst gave me enough sustain and Blackfire Torch let me harrass him back enough.
