Now this cemetary is the perfect final resting place in my opinion! I love everything about it! Here in the USA they are more like "memorial parks" that almost look like a golf course until you are close up and see the flat boring plaques. This was an awesome find, thank you Sue! xx

@LoisLaBounty3 ай бұрын
Originally cemeteries were the parks for people. Outside the normal city and towns boundaries, because of the smells. People would ride/drive up in their horse drawn vehicles. It could take hours to reach them. So they were well cared for and more like a park for children to play in. While the elders and adults would sit and converse to/and about their loved ones. Now that we have motored vehicles it does not take so long to get there. And cemeteries are just places where the dead are buried.

Having seen many Victorian post-mortem photographs, I was not negatively affected by the babies’ photos. Very many unusual graves there! It’s a beautiful place. I notice many of the flat stone-topped ones are angled, so one can see them (plus rain can run off, instead of sitting there). A fascinating journey. Thanks, Sue & God Bless 💖💚

Hi Sue, that is a Gorgeous peaceful cemetery...I Agree that the grave with the skull is extremely unique. It almost looks like a Pirate's ☠ grave. The Children's Graves are always sad, you wonder about what the people were like when they were alive. The Laughter, the Love, the Compassion and the heartache. I Recently lost a cousin, he was only 35, he passed in Hospice due to liver cancer that spread. I found out through my Brother, he seen it on Facebook. I was close to my cousin, he spent many dinners at my house, he gamed...I went over to his Parent's house and jammed on guitar and watched movies at his house. We were all close. Last time I seen him was at a Christmas banquet, he looked healthy as could be. The eerie coincidence, was when I saw and talked to him, at a local grocery store just less than an hour before I found my Father dead. I was 35. I don't think Anyone can explain life. Thank You Sue for giving a small voice to those who passed and were long forgotten. I need to get out to my Parent's Mausoleum. God Bless You!! >P.S. I seen the pic of your mascot Morty, that was hilarious!!! 😁👍☘🦆

What a beautiful place . Sue, when I walked through the Hollywood graveyard in Richmond, VA , I took with me my small recorder . I turned the sensor on to activate if it heard any noise. I went to a place where it was really away from any normal traffic and turned it on , placed it on a large headstone and walked away . It was nearing 6 pm and the cemetery was closing .. gates and all. Came back the next day and yes the recorder had recorded . Some mumble Jumble but then two elderly men talking as plain as day and very clearly. I found it quite interesting. The graveyard your in I would sure be interested in doing the same if I was ever in France . Beautiful place . Thank you

Wow! Nice cemetery Sue! It is sad when children die, and back in those days, photos were not taken of frivolous things, children being one at that time, but then they would have to take a photograph post mortem if the child passed. Today, the child is photographed at birth, and many times more, before it leaves the hospital! Which is great for the memories of when the child asks about where it came from! You can pull out the photo albums and show the child it's first few days of life all the way to today if you are a picture taking parent! That skull was cool with the moss covering it and giving it a layer of life it would lack if it were bare stone. I can see why they use the name for the cemetery! I like the respect you and GV give the cemeteries and the occupants, it also makes for great videos too!

@@SerenitySueGraveyards I've only been outside of the US one time, back in 2005 when my first wife took me to Germany for 3 weeks. She had cancer at the time, but wanted to "go home one last time" (she was born in Munich), and because my family had originally immigrated from Germany in the late 1800s, was wanting to take me to the country I had always longed to visit. But knowing the rigors of travel through that experience (heh, we almost got arrested in London during a layover... for smoking outside), I completely understand what you mean. Besides, I find cemeteries and graveyards to be extremely peaceful places. Even the ones near me, despite them not being anywhere near as beautiful as what you are going through. And just for informational purposes, my first wife would pass away less than a year after our trip. She had promised before she died, to send me someone when the time was right, so that I wouldn't be lonely for the rest of my life. She did, and that woman and I have been married for 13 years now.

Another great video Sue. The moss on the skull and Crossbones, gives it an aura of mystiqueness to it. The post mortem photos are pretty sad when the parents don't have any other photos to put on their child's graves, but at least they won't be forgotten by their following ancestors after the death of their parents. People might think I'm being morbid about that, but I know quite a few friends who have done the same with the loss of their children, and they explain why they've done that, and that is the reason, they don't have any other photos to put on their child's gravestone. Again, great video, keep them coming. I enjoy all your videos.

Yes, I understand that that completely, it just makes me feel so sad to know this beautiful baby was so loved and I felt their parents' pain from their loss. Sue, I wonder if the skull was the request of the man who is buried there or if a family member chose that macabre symbol of death? Beautiful, ornate graves, such unique designs. I love the photographs, it’s to me a way to honor their life. My sons headstone has a picture of him incorporated into it. I don’t remember what the process is called. It's fantastic to see so many people enjoy walking through these amazing cemeteries, and this way, we all unite in remembering these people and children

Hey Serenity Sue. You outdid yourself. Nice video. That's a nice cemetery. I've been to allot of cemeteries. Including our famous one here in St Louis called Jefferson Barracks. Most of the graves there are from our civil war who are still unknown. We're still trying to figure out who are they are. You and Grave Visitations should come visit sometime in the states and visit the cemeteries here.

A beautiful place, rivals Pere La Chaise. Our old family album had black and white photos and one we thought was a picnic because there was a blanket on the ground, and something like a basket, but all was white in color; I recognized my Grandmother sitting on the ground, on the blanket. It was only decades later that we realized that the 'basket' was actually a small casket and the baby had died shortly after it was born; we could see there were some skull deformities. Somehow it was comforting to see her and the family theremourning the loss of the wee child that was born in 1925. Thank you for sharing these.

Fantastic cemetery. Some beautiful graves there. The skull one was rather creepy. Please take care
