That was a heart warming story. Boy oh boy you should have bought a lottery ticket that day! The fates just weren't going to let you miss meeting the Frig. It truly was meant to be. Maybe for both of you. Love this story. And the Oscar goes to Jordan Lee for best real person in a feel good drama.🎉🎉🎉. Thanks man you're a good person. Good heart.

I spent summers in Des Plaines in the 80's to early 90's. I saw those guys at their training camp in Wisconsin one summer. My dad met Walter Payton at his nightclub Studebakers on his birthday in 1988. Walter bought dad a bottle of champagne. ❤

During the mid-80s the Bears were the toast of Chicago, and a North Carolinian, Michael Jordan, was beginning his run of brilliance with the Bulls. Even the Cubs were doing fairly well. I grew up in Chicago and for years in the late 80s and into the late 90s, Chicago was THE place whenever I visited my parents (whether I was living in CT, LA, or later DC). I don't want to say "only in Chicago" would the Fridge had captured everyone's imagination, but everyone was so excited by that '85 Bears team that this was the icing on the cake. He made people happy through his personality and by the way he played football. And also Coach Ditka was not really known for liking anybody (even his QB or coaching staff), but he liked this guy.

Do not forget that Mike Ditka, a person who talks out of both sides of his mouth, never replicated the success in the Windy City. Allowing Mike Ditka to make the decisions of the draft when he coached the Saints proved to everybody the level of his ineptitude. He found some degree of glory on a pregame show. It appeared he found his calling and then he opened his mouth. It went downhill from there. Like Otis Wilson said, if only egos had been put aside, the Bears could have been the team with a few more Super Bowls. .

Wow, I got excited for you, what an experience! Diabetes is a MF and can serve as the gateway for many other illnesses. I just turned 50 this year and I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I left the country this year in search of a better life especially regarding my health. I'm happy to report as of now and without meds my diabetes is under control. This was hard as hell to accomplish in America. I wish Mr. Perry nothing but the best with his health. I moved to an Asian country and I don't touch the rice. So, when you said he was eating Chinese Rice that triggered me. The meds we are given aren't to be taken long term. It's our foods that need to change to allow our bodies to take back control. I wish everyone the greatest of health. But for best results look to the ground not a drugstore. Great Story!

Awesome video,Jordan! Anyone that was a kid in the mid 80's definitely enjoyed the Chicago Bears! I, myself, was a fan of Jim McMahon, Walter Payton, and the Fridge! To see him score a Td in the Super Bowl vs the Patriots endeared me to him forever. I bet he really appreciates knowing that he still has fans out there, and people haven't forgotten his accomplishments on the field, in commercials, and on the big screen. That is awesome how it all timed out perfectly for you to meet him. I definitely like how respectful you are, when visiting someone....if he was willing to see you, great....if not, you would have been disappointed, but understanding, and you would have been able to say that you at least gave it a shot! You even were so kind as to offer him help getting inside....that's awesome! So glad you got to meet him, and were able to update us all on how he is doing these days! All the best to William....hopefully he is feeling better and stronger with each day that passes, but I'm sure your visit did wonders for him mentally! He was probably just as happy to have a visitor as you were to meet one of your childhood idols. Congrats again on getting to meet the Fridge, and continued best wishes for you on your travels. Thank you for this one, Jordan. I'm glad you did this I went into the Navy in Jan of 86 so I missed them winning the SB as I was in bootcamp. I think everyone loved "The Fridge"

My dad and I were big fans of Mr. Perry and the team. My dad still loves the Bears though we have always lived in Michigan lol. If he or his family read this we send our love. ❤

Thank you. You are an envoy for Fridge fans. He meant so much to Bear fans everywhere in the '80's. It's great you let him know he's still a beloved member of the community.

You are a cool dude for doing that. Im sure you warmed his heart by doing that. Its amazing how people who were larger than life and known by millions can be lost and forgotten.

I truly believe that we are meant to meet the people that we are supposed to meet. I'm glad you got to meet William and that he signed the football for you. I know that meant a lot to you. Stay safe and take care.

My son was a huge fan too. I got the local tee shirt printers to put The Refrigerator on the back of a Chicago tee. My boy was a tiny refrigerator himself.😂 We so enjoyed watching him play. Thank you for this video!

I am so glad you got to meet him! I don't think it was a coincident that you met him the way you did! I have never been interested in professional football, but I was a fan of the Chicago Bears when Refridgerator Perry played! The NFL players were just different then if you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing!
