Today, we’re paying a very special visit to Los Angeles!
No, no THAT Los Angeles, ya dummy!
I’m talking about the ORIGINAL Los Angeles. The LA that was a thing before LA ever came into existence (unfortunately)!
“Los Angeles” is the nickname of “The Papal Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels,” the sixth largest Christian church in the entire world.
This place is synonymous with the life of St. Francis of Assisi, who had many spiritual experiences while dwelling here in the forest.
It was right here, on this plot of land, where St. Francis founded the Franciscan movement all those years ago!
Which begs the question: Why was a plot of land thousands of miles away in Southern California named after this church, anyways?
