I found the perfect painting for my boho kitchen - Come thrifting with me (and Charlie) - Story 72

I went thrifting this past week. A LOT OF THRIFTING! I visited thrift stores down in Delaware and in the Hudson Valley, NY. I popped in to some Goodwills and also a local thrift store where I always find the coolest art and clothes. I found a few vintage treasures for the cottage that have made my heart happy : ) And I was super happy to find the PERFECT picture for my boho kitchen.
Of course, I also spent a LOT of time with my other favorite form of therapy ... spending time in nature and the garden🌼

You and little Charlie brighten every day. We have sun at last this morning, in West Devon, England, and I was up at 5.00am and out of the door walking Madge at 5.15am. The birds were singing the dawn chorus, and two owls were hooting to each other. I am so lucky that I am surrounded by nature from my front door. I have no passing traffic where my little house is, and the country road at the bottom of the private lane I live on, hardly has any traffic using it. Because of watching your videos, I've become far more aware of nature. We live across the street from a creek and at the end of every walk, I lean on the railing over the creek and watch the water ripple along over rocks. I also make sure I tune in so that i can hear the soft sound of the water. It's very calming.

My heart felt your tears for your dad, it’s been 3 years since I lost my mum and a sneaky tear still comes now and then when I think of her. I think it’s because all that love we had for them, now has no where to go so it comes out as tears, sometimes happy sometimes sad but always with love. ❤️

Thank you for another wonderful video, its so relaxing to watch ! I love your photo frame, and it made me think of the Japanese art of making something even more beautiful when it's broken, I think it's called kitsugi? They see the broken objects' faults and celebrate them by highlighting the repair. I don't think you could find a better way to celebrate that little frame than by putting a picture of your father in it. I think that was very special. Have a lovely weekend! ☺️

At 2:43 I almost dove through the screen for that beautiful art of the horse in the large gold ornate matted frame. It was gorgeous!!! I saw so many pretty things. I don't have luck with clothes, but I love art, baskets, frames, candles, glassware, and textiles. Mostly I love the nature and sky and water views. I wish I lived near such beauty to be able to access it everyday. Love the new art piece in the kitchen.

Peace be with you. 🙏 my 97 year old mum passed away 02.24.2024, she was with my brother at his house so not alone. Lived a good life to the end was able to take care of herself and in her own home. I lived on the other side of the states so didn’t see her much. My brother was close by and took her shopping and appts, she was remarkable. I pray you have so memories to comfort you.

Kate I loved this video, so many beautiful places. The florals on the trees are stunning. Charlie is the cutest dog, so fun too. The dandelion were so many and lovely. They are one of the first flowers of spring that honey bees enjoy. Your hair is looking good and you are beautiful. This weekend where I am is a county wide yard sale. I swore I wasn't going to go to any. But I noticed my neighbors were doing one and I have really been needing a book case. Found one for $5. So then I thought I was also wanting a rocking chair. Found one at the next yard sale for $10. I'm doing my garden in a fairy garden style and at the next stop found fairy statues for the garden. It was wild because you normally don't find exactly what you are looking for but I did all day long! And I honestly thought you would have loved it because I also live in the mountains so it's like your favorite things. Have a great weekend ❤

Yesterday I made me a dandelion salad and brought some of the yellow flowers and it made me dinner line tea it was good and something different I just put a very little of honey in my dandelion salad because some of the dandelions were older and kind of bitter and I could not believe how well delicious it was

She's a love bug but Charlue has soon much spunk.❤ My dad's favorite flowers were dandelions. We put them on his headstone. Nature definitely makes my heart very happy! I just love seeing your thrift store visits, and walks in nature, Kate! I used to live in Arlington, VA a lifetime ago (like before you were born!) and here in Canada I just had hail today after a light snowfall this morning! But my garlic is growing fast nevertheless. Ah the craziness of nature. That Arlington park was just gorgeous with all the blossoms on the tree, and dandelions! This weekend I'm painting and going to a performance of a very popular Canadian singer in a very small local venue. The sun has just come out! Yay! I look forward to spring busting out, but the biting bugs in my rural community are just awful so I'm happy for it to stay cold for a lot longer! The days are mostly fairly mild, though. I live right across the street from a beautiful park in my city. Many people who get married in my city go to this park to take wedding pictures. It's always fun to see this happening. I really love all the spots you stopped to take pictures in. My favorite spot that you stopped at was the waterfall!

My parents died within 18 months of each other and whilst that was a blessing for them to be reunited it left a massive void in our little family. Thats such a beautiful frame to place a memory into. I also love the dandelions! I’ve watched the little gold finches slowly turn into bright yellow colors matching the dandelions in the grass for natural camouflage 💛 I recently went to a job interview and when I met the VP and sat down with her I kept thinking 🤔 she reminds me of someone…it’s Kate from my KZbin! (I’m not being weird, it was extraordinary) After months of interviews…I got the job! 😊 I haven’t worked since I lost my Dad almost 3 years now.. While at my much-loved, local state park one day this week, I saw a young woman sitting on a blanket with her little dog. Made me think of you right away! With all the beautiful wildflowers blooming all over the place, I feel as though there is no better time of the year to get outside and walk amongst the magic of it all. Like you, I just love it! Driving from New York to Northern Virginia is quite the trek! I'm glad you had time to work in a visit with your mom and enjoy the local sites. It's too bad you didn't get to Savers. There's one in Baltimore County I just loved when I lived down that way. Thank you for once again sharing some of your beautiful life with us, Kate. You are such an inspiration to me! 😇
