This is the best wash n go video on type 4 hair i ever seen and ive seen hundreds! No one talks about how detailed the process can be and the dos and donts . I think I can finally have a proper wash n go now 😊
@keepingitnatural7601 Жыл бұрын
This isn’t an actual wash n go it’s a twist out. There is no plaiting or twisting in a wash n go. She had beautiful results, but she applied products, twisted it, let it dry in the twists for 3 days and then twisted it out. This is the exact process of a twist and not a wash n go.
@SRG4782 Жыл бұрын
The key word she used was "look". Some of us can't get our actual wash n goes to last very long. A twist out lasts longer. So to get the "look" of a wash n go but the staying power of a twist out, you do your twists a bit differently. Looser twists with defined clumps; 3 strand twists as another commenter mentioned; or tighter twists done on SOAKING wet hair in the shower is what works for me. (I found that one out by accident doing a lazy hair day).

I just watched your video a few days ago and decided to try this method. WOOOOOW!!!! My hair looks so amazing!!! I didn't wash my hair, I just used this method to refresh an old wash and go. I thought twisting it after I applied my product would ruin it but I gave it a shot. I took my twists down this morning and my curls are so defined! This is my new wash-n-go method! I'm 4A/4B

This is what Naptural85 called her winter W&G back in the day and ppl in the comments kept telling her it's a twist out.😒 I rock W&Gs 75% of the time but I followed her method when I didn't want to deal with shrinkage on day 1 or when I had to air dry but didn't want it to take forever. I also started stopping the twists a couple inches from the ends so that my unaltered curl pattern would star at the ends but the rest of the hair would be a lil stretched. Your hair turned out great.

You know I actually figured this out a while ago but I'd never seen anyone else do it! I had to take my knowledge of twist outs AND defined wash and gos and combine them on my own. But I've never seen anyone else make a video like this~ 🥰 glad you shared with others who maybe didn't know!

Back in the day, this was not a wash and go hack, this was simply a twist out and Naptural85 was the one who used to pin her twist up like this. Also, if you want your roots to be straighter, just braid at the roots and twist down.... One more thing, I usually just braid my hair down to about an inch and a half from the bottom and curl the bottom with a small roller or a straw and bobby pin. That leaves your curl elongated when you separate them, but you still have that curly end without the single strand knots. been doing this for over 10yrs.

Yes, you’re correct. This is a twist out. Lol. not sure why she took your comment offensively. Not everyone knows the correct names. But it is surprising tho cause I thought twist outs were really popular on KZbin? twist out and wash and go are very different. 🤷♀️ before anyone replies “it’s just different techniques!!!” Literally go watch other videos on twist outs vs wash and gos. Before y’all wanna tussle. No shade but it’s just truth. Love seeing these styles and results on natural hair.

I’ve also been natural for 10 years now & a huge fan of Whitney as well, however, there is a slight difference though because with a true twist out you typically don’t take the time to define all your curls first like Brittany did as you do with a traditional wash & go. This is a great technique, Brittany, it turned out beautifully!! I’ll continue to use this great technique to elongate my curls! Thanks for sharing!
@tunzlunz Жыл бұрын
@@Calihon88 this is not a twist out though. Her hair came out with wash and go curls not in a twist format and you can clearly see that the twists didn’t do any defining. I’ve actually never seen a tutorial like this so I appreciate her posting this. Also the first comment came off arrogant. She essentially tried to down play what she was doing by saying it’s not a wash n go and she’s been doing this for 10 years. She is mansplaining a twist out lowkey even though brittany said this is not a twist out.

I would definitely recommend this technique for people who can’t seem to get their wash and go’s to come out right. Combining gel with loose twist is a life saver. You will always get beautiful results. I also use this technique for my leave out whenever I’m wearing a curly unit.

Your results were bomb! You definitely got the wash and go look after twisting your hair! Your hair looked amazing!! My only piece of advice ladies is to please remove the excess product from sitting on the hair after twisting! While it doesn’t look like Brittany got any flaking, that’s exactly how it comes about.. plus it dries faster without all of the excess product.. Just take a t-shirt or microfiber towel & blot away the excess product!
