@@Paradoxikality I think before you get Bottled Lightning that's fine, because you might draw those cards before Apotheosis and you'd want them to be upgraded in that case. But yeah after Bottled Lightning there's like no reason to upgrade anything other than maybe Ex Machina in case you draw it on the first turn, so the Apotheosis hits the Miracles

Its not dunking on NL, what is fun about Sts is sometimes you run just goes to insane power levels and apotheosis absolutely trivializes the game it is so overtuned - to the degree sometimes I dont take it just to retain a sense of agency over a run. Getting it as early as he did, especially bottled, meant he could do anything he wanted on any floor - hunt elites, constant rests at fires, take every beneficial ? option - its so much more than having all your cards upgraded which is obviously strong, but there is a shift in how the entire run plays out that is where so much of the power comes from. You really can't overestimate the impact of an early apoth, i roll my eyes when it shows up because it so dramatically and favorably it shifts the pattern of a run. I truly feel the starting option that gives you a rare colorless giving apotheosis is like a near 100% winrate position.
