@@mhm6 the switch version is single player only at moment so if you want to play with others get it on other consoles or pc which is crossed play but if you don't mind single player only it is 100% worth it on the switch

P5R player here, I have had ZERO issues with the port on Switch. It’s genuinely amazing and, maybe a hot take, feels more natural here than on PlayStation. Genuinely I’m still floors by how well they ported the game. Looking forward to your full thoughts!

@Joshua Andersen Getting Children of the Elder God wouldn't have been a problem at all. All the songs by the fictional band Old Gods of Asgard are written and performed by a Finnish band called Poets of the Fall. The vocalist for the band is a childhood friend of Sam Lake, who's the main writer and basically creative director of Remedy who made Alan Wake. So Poets of the Fall have been gladly contributing their music to Remedy games since Max Payne 2 (in Alan Wake there's even a joke on the radio when one of the Poets of the Fall songs plays and Pat Maine says that this band sounds kinda like Old Gods of Asgard). They also wrote 'Take Control' under the Old Gods of Asgard monicker from the Control game and will probably create music for Alan Wake II as well. Other licensed music was a lot more of a hassle, like Roy Orbison or Bowie.

The day the remake launched on Switch, there was a price error in the Mexico eshop. It was listed as 23.99 PESOS instead of the equivalent in pesos of 23.99 dollars. So it was like 1 USD haha, with my gold points i paid like 50 cents (USD).

It’s such a shame that the Alan Wake Remastered Switch port ended up being so bad because when the game first released on PlayStation and Xbox it was really good. It had so much potential but in the end it turned out to be worse than a therapy session with Mr Scratch.

biggest problem with ports to the switch is that most console devs aren't used to making smartphone ports of games and the nintendo switch is essentially just an entry level smartphone

Whenever I see games like No Man Sky or another marvelous port, it reminds me of how impressive the switch is. It's not always about the greatest hardware, but what you can do with the hardware you already have. Obviously, the switch does need some sort of upgrade soon because I don't want to see cloud versions of every single upcoming AAA title but we've got a lot of good switch ports for games I didn't think we'd ever get.

Aw man, I was thinking of picking this one up too. Regarding other ports, I also have thought that a lot of the "bad ports" aren't a problem with the Switch itself, but lazy or inexperienced devs. One I always think of is Outer Worlds vs Skyrim. The Outer Worlds port is pretty rough, bad load times, ugly textures everywhere, frame drops all the time. Yet at the same time, Skyrim, a similar game, but even bigger in scope, runs perfectly (outside of the usual Bethesda jank you come to expect) and looks *better*, plus motion controls for things like lockpicking and aiming which are actually quite good. Also, I've been playing the new Persona 5 Switch port, about 50 hours in atm, which is definitely my choice for one of the best ports, that thing is beautifully done. Perfect performance, barely any load times, looks great, plus just a banger of a soundtrack.

The second I saw d3t I was like "THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING" they couldn't even get good genesis emulation for the console versions of the genesis collection, I've heard about very bad input delay, bad sound emulation, lots of errors, just not good. That's why I get baffled every time someone says to buy that instead of the sega ages versions or switch online versions, cause those latter two are done by m2 and are actually good.

As good of an idea as it would be for them just to port the OG 360 version.(And as much as I would like that.) In the remaster they re-did all the character models and cutscenes. I think Remedy would have an issue with it because it wouldn’t be consistent with the current ports. The differences are enough to where people would notice it and point it out. Even though I personally think they should port the OG 360 version as well Wood. They may not do it unfortunately.

Tbh, I was never allowed to game as a child and I’ve used the switch as an outlet to catch up on a lot of the games I missed. I’ve never been exposed to Alan wake, so I’ve been rather enjoying it on the switch, but seeing this makes me so sad lol. This game has so much potential to be gorgeous and thrilling, but without seeing it on other systems, the switch version just came across as a different take on story line gaming

30+ hours in Persona 5 and there are some graphical glitches and the graphics are definitely lower quality but your get so inmersed in the gameplay and the higher quality text-graphic novel overlays that you definitely forget about everything arround you and consentrate on who you want to date in the game 10/10

Well it's a good thing I didn't pick up the switch version of Allen Wake, I had it in my cart on Amazon but decided against it. However I'm a bit disappointed how bad the port looks because I've heard nothing but great things about the game. But I'll just play it on pc. However I've been having a ton of fun replaying Neir Automata on the switch and pretty surprised how well it ran on the console!

Alan Wake sits up there with some of my favorite games of all time, along with Max Payne. I am sooo relieved to have seen these Alan Wake Switch videos before taking the plunge. The last system that I truly played Alan Wake on was the launch PS4. So I never got to see any games ran under the PS4 Pro hood...I just recently got the Xbox Series X (because I still can not find a f'n PS5) but, I started playing the OG Alan Wake on the Series X with a nice 4k TV and WOW.. The original Alan Wake while taking advantage of the Series X looks and plays like a new game from what I remember. Sooo, I will definitely skip the Switch version, and I may as well skip the remaster because I am so happy with the original running on the X ..
