I Found This $40 Action Figure At The Thrift Store!

It’s 5 Thrift Store Friday and holy cow did I score some sweet thrift store finds today! I scored a $40 Action Figure for $5 at Plaza Thrift!
This was a Jazz Worthy Thrift Store Score!
I like to hunt vintage toys in thrift stores, but sometimes I find modern toys that get me all jazzed up and this was one of those occasions!

The cards were 1986 Topps, not the Tiffany set that looks exactly the same but can be worth over 4 times the value per card. Sadly most anything past 1984 has little to no value, but you have to really know what to look for with centering, corners, color, gloss, and residue having to be perfect for maximum value, plus know players actual rookie card either from insert set, traded, or basic issues, and that is just for dealing with cards. The cards were also staged with Rose as the biggest name in the lot of cards. If you also look, they had doubles of the Rose cards, so it clearly wasn't the complete set. The card market also still hasn't even come close to recovering unlike the comic and collectibles markets. As someone who spent decades from early 90s junior high buying and selling to even doing it professionally until about 10 years ago, including building collections for private clients, sports stuff is so much more demanding to learn and be good at, I would avoid anything sports wise to flip or invest in, but collecting for nostalgia is perfectly fine.

Stay away from baseball cards at Goodwill and thrift stores...there's a reason why they are there (worthless!). I've had more luck going through dime boxes at card shows.
