this one still has to be my favorite of the nightmares series. I think it manages to capture a greater sum of its parts than the others, something w/ the atmosphere, the pacing. it sticks in my mind the most out of these nightmares

The third, about Blowplay, is a reference to "Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said." It's a dystopian novel from the 70s about a TV show host named Jason Taverner who gets transferred to an alternate universe where he doesn't exist.

@krinn12842 жыл бұрын
I could be way off, but I think it's mainly about how people rationalize their indifference to others' suffering. We could do things to help the needy but don't, yet live in denial of how we contribute to the problem by doing nothing. As to what the teacher is supposed to represent, I don't know. The farmer and the scarecrow obey her as though she's in charge. She tells them what to think because she taught them what they know and brought them into existence. My guess is that the teacher represents the world.

@toamatau87852 жыл бұрын
@@krinn1284 I like this interpretation. While everyone else is sitting around, the purple guy is trying to save the sinking car. The teacher explains his death and those of the people in the car not as a sign of the world being bad, but simply because the purple guy was "thinking too much". Out of sight, out of mind and all that.
