I can understand why he was not thrilled. It is the man who has the extra burden to get them to adulthood (not saying mothers don’t have), and provide for them and more. He was more happy that it was a girl but being a parent myself, I know how a man feels. He takes on himself to make sure his kids make it to become adults and successful.

She is absolutely beautiful, congratulations! As someone who has had 3 C-sections in the U.S I am in awe of your experience. It was so peaceful and you all got to bond. My last child was born in 2019, I had surgery Friday afternoon and left Sunday morning. They also don't give pain meds in my area any more, so that was fun. All women should be able to have your experience or something similar.
