Gear cube and mirror cube are so much easier than they seem. Mirror cube is just a 3x3 in 3D instead of solved by color, and gear cube has a weird rotational symmetry that makes is easy once you realize that it's mostly 180 degree twists. Having said that, I'm nowhere near these times on any of these cubes, and it was impressive to watch someone solve them back to back!
@janisir452929 күн бұрын
The gear cube really is trivial, but the mirror cube is so hard despite being a 3x3 shape mod. More specifically because it's a shape mod, it ruins muscle memory, and makes it hard to tell where blocks go.

Where can I buy the first cube
@BadassRaiden5 ай бұрын
I can't seem to solve a cube because my mind's eye just can't see where the squares need to go and go back to in future moves. Like I know how to get any square I want to any place, but I my mind can't visualize how to do that AND get all the other squares exactly back to where they were. So I can solve like, two sides minus 1 square max, and then it gets to the point where I can't visualize how to move any more squares where they need to be, while also knowing how to move squares on the finished side out and then back into place. Basically my brain can follow the "move particular square to where it needs to be, then reverse all the actions you did to get it there" for two sides but after that it's too many moves for my brain to keep track of, or just a lack of being able to visualize how to do it in the simplest way. Having aphantasia very much doesnt help.

That's why after let's say, the first two layers that can nicely be solved by logic, it mostly comes down to learning already created algorithms, that were thought of by some extremely smart people. However it's very nice if you're already able to build so much of the cube purely based on logic! But if your goal is to ultimately solve the entire cube and also understand the process, you can look up some algorithms to learn, and try to understand how they work as you're turning the sides. There's a bunch of good tutorials out there... Hope that helps!

It doesn’t really scramble like a 3x3 (even tho it looks like one). I’m pretty sure it’s harder because you can do half turns on it. I’m not sure if that’s the right way to explain it or if that’s actually correct tho 😅.
