Some other decks that Jaden could play are Inzektor, Bujin, and Vanquish Soul. Though it's a stretch to call the first two modern decks, they all have a colorful cast of monsters like Heros. For Syrus, Geargia and Wind-Up have the goofy machine aesthetic like Vehicroid. Alexis could probably play something like Swordsoul or Voiceless Voice. Mikanko might be a decent deck for Blair to use as a modern equivalent for Maiden In Love. And Crowler could play Machina due to the similar aesthetic of "militaristic machines with beefy mechs as their boss monsters". Citadel even has the same attribute and attack as Golem.

So for Jaden, I always thought a world chalice deck would suit him pretty well. A deck with heroes who combine to become stronger extra deck monsters. Instead of meeting the Neo Spacians during the society of light arc, he could’ve met the Mekk-Knights instead. Instead of evil heroes, he would have the Knightmares.

Banner's overall theme is alchemy, which means his best match would be Eldlich - the Eldlixir cards reference the same alchemical process some of his anime-only cards do, plus being zombies nod towards his inproperly-alive status.

Syrus I think would work with Gold Pride. It just feels right. I actually would give Chazz Spright as his "main" deck. A big part of why he shuffles his decks around but keeps Ojama as a core is because of their versatility and ability to splash in his other strategies, and Spright seems up his alley since it can be combined with "literally any set of Level 2 focused decks." And it keeps his Thunder themeing. Alexis I would probably go for Mikanko, a large part of her GX decks are that she has some cards that are based on dancing and gymnastics but the Cyber Angels are Ritual monsters based on Shinto gods. So why not Mikanko, a Ritual Deck that is based on Shinto priests and involves dancing? Blair just for the Tag Force reference is mandatory to play Lightsworn. Banner being all about alchemy I could see getting Eldlich, since that also is an alchemy deck. Or Invoked could work if the concept is to match his ideal of being an occultist seeking knowledge, and you wanted to focus on a versatile strategy with multiple attributes. Darkness, I want to say Shaddoll. In terms of his philosophy of individualism bringing suffering, play style involving set cards, and in-story abilities of possession, Shaddoll seems like a good fit.

Creatively finding solutions and ways around any villain of the weeks decks as well as adapting to and out playing the rest of the cast's various styles of play. Fur Hires also come to mind for either Jaden or Jesse; I’ve always found the card art for them to have a lot of personality as if you could see each one of them being a Duel Monster Spirit, and Beat (or Filo) specifically feel like they occupy a similar “cute small monster mascot” niche to Winged Kuriboh or Ruby Carbuncle. Plus, their strategy really pushes swarming the field and obtaining beneficial effects from being together, so they really feel fitting towards Jaden/Jesse’s ideas of friendship and teamwork.

Darkness, the big final boss, used a basically all trap deck, and would set 5 every turn with a 0 and Infinity and card, I definitely think lair of darkness is fitting but I would almost prefer if he could use some of the ZARC stuff, since he's supposed to be a manifestation of everyone's self doubts and existentialism about the future

Sartorious' best choice imo is Qli, they're based on Kabbalah iirc and that was the same base for the Arcana, if I'm remembering Persona 3 right lmao. They also have that final boss vibe and godly being aesthetic. Apoqliphort Towers felt like a legit anime boss whenever I had to take that down back in the day.

Regarding some of the choices. Judai/Jaden's whole thing is a kid/teenagers growing into an adult. So Ancient Warriors fit this, they fit an kid/teenager growing into an adult, with first being attract it because they are cool, and later on because they represent what he believes. Sho/Syrus, ironically, i think that the Rescue-Ace fit him, not because they are powerful, but because they fit him trying to be helpful but initially not knowing how and slowly but surely grows into it. Johan/Jesse ironically, i do think that Crystrons fit him, because the small monster of it do fit with it. They fit with the idea of the crystal beast, then Purrley. Because his thing is family and family helping each other to be better(Synchro) fits with him, reason to why the Crystal Beast stay on the S/T zones. Saoi/Sartorius no, Lightswarn, especially having in mind season 4, where they Twilight version of them fits him too.

I would like to throw Memento into the ring as a contender for Chazz's deck because of the times when he used both an underworld-related deck (Mementos are based in the Aztec afterlife with their boss cards) and the times when he was relying on "junk" cards to win duels since Memento is based almost entirely on vanilla monsters that have been thrown to the wayside.

For Sartorius i will go with the Prophecy/spellbooks archetype. Both the prophecy and the arcana force are based on the tarot cards. Besides with his hability to see the future or make "prophecies" is quite fitting

I feel like Jesse could also play a memento deck. Rainbow dragon requires 7 different crystal beasts on your field/GY. Combined Creation requires you to bring back 5 different Memento monsters from your hand/gy. Given that he has a strong bond, bringing back his monsters from the graveyard to bring out his strongest monster feels even more fitting than rainbow dragon. The sacrificial effects also represent his own self sacrificial nature as is shown in the anime.

For Axel, I feel like Igknights really fits his theme. Probably weird to give him a Pendulum archetype but he is a later season character so having a different gimmick seems fine. Alexis is now known for Cyber Angels since they were printed much more recently but for a lot of the series her ace was Cyber Blader and she used female athletes. So I think U.A. fits her in a weird way. The 5Ds manga and onward would have characters use the same archetype but different cards but GX was more experimental and would have characters use totally different archetypes so I appreciate calling out Bastion's yokai deck. Jessie played an Insect deck and Jim played an Alligator deck. So it is kind of interesting to think about what their upgraded decks would be too.

I could really see Jaden with a super quantal deck. The cards all synergize great, helping each other out and combining into a powerful boss monster. They’re based off the power rangers which I totally see Jaden liking.

The Prophecy archetype suits Sartorius really well. Also Crowley, the First Propheseer kinda looks like him.

In the tag force games Blair played a lightsworn deck. Judgment dragon fits the deck that she used against Chazz. I could even see Jaden giving her a necro gardna because it works so well with her strategy. So tearlament would be a perfect fit.

Blair can do Dragonmaids. Her duel with a Chazz had a baby dragon that grew into a powerful form. Also Jesse can just take Gem knights. I don’t remember that girl from Arc V at all lol

I immediately thought of vernasylph for jesse, i think it fits him while also having a big payoff similar to crystal beasts, not very thematically related but more playstyle related
