@@oldschooloverlord I think the implication is that uThermal and Goblin are normal (x1, x1) vs 10 bronze who are x2 x2 so it'd be 2 pros vs 40 bronze

Precisely what I've been thinking. I believe 3 tempests and a few stalkers to protect them would've been unstoppable. Canons on the edges of the base felt so trivial also.

There was a challenge I was thinking about, but I'm not a SC2 player, so I don't know if it is feasible. Challenge: Marc plays Terran against whatever opponent level he wants, but, he cannot own more than 1 Command Center. He can win by defeating his opponent until he GGs. His opponent wins by destroying Marc's Command Center, and forces Marc to GG. Therefore, it will be vital for Marc to protect his CC at all costs. This would be a sort of Capture the Flag type of challenge. Feel free to apply any bonuses or penalties you want to make it interesting, or keep all units the same. Whatever you want. Thoughts? 🤔

I suck at Starcraft2 and those guys would probably beat me... however with that handicap I think I would have beat you and forced you to add an extra rule... As I would have simply massed Marines in both cases and not be shy about sending them to their deaths. With such a handicap, it's best not to overthink.

100% agree. They're acting like Marc is the one with the buffed units. Spotter marines with 300 health scout for a REALLY long time. Also base racing when your buildings have 5x the HP is, as you can imagine, quite the winning move

Maybe silver but if you’re gold you should at least have the beginning part of the build order down to five seconds accurate. Literally send your first unit across and Uthermal would have to lose 12 SCVs just to defend.

I do feel like both games, his opponents did not play to their buffs, the lack of tanks to shut down reaper aggression early in game 2. The lack of expansions in either game. They were playing like thermal would with a two base all in. But forgot the all in an/or macro game.

I think the ladder would be way more interesting if I could fight higher MMR players but they got a penalty like this. It would also help with smurfing.

The gold matches are a bit eh because their strats are so bad. Like they need a coach or something. 5x hp and going medi marine tank is close to optimally bad. Just a higher rank giving them a build plan would have turned both of those matches.

That's exactly the point of the handicap, otherwise such challenges would be impossible. Since their unities are buffed, there must be weaknesses to be exploited. If their strats and macro were great, they wouldn't be gold players.
