It was a pleasure to participate in this adventure, and while the video makes it look way easier, i.e. so many trips to Lowe’s and Home Depot, the end result is satisfying. Your willingness to do your hands into thin set and crack the whip on me is admirable. Sorry you had to head out before it was completed but you have that to look forward to. Having your sweet dad help you is such a blessing and a great memory you will always have forever. My dad helped me paint my rental property and then he passed away less then a year later from cancer. Family is so important!

You found a really nice work flow with the Fiverr renderings; use those to make the big, expensive, and tough to change decisions (tile, layout, sizing of components) and then leave smaller decisions (light fixtures, mirrors, accessories) to the end when you can see the real life result. Great job, I hope your videos encourage more DIYers. It’s rewarding in so many ways to build beautiful spaces like yours. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic job @ShelbyChurch and dad! Nothing wrong with hiring help on a remodel but I love it when Airbnb hosts diy some of the reno. Diy’ing some of my own places gave me a ton of respect for contractors who do great work. It also gives you a better idea as a host of how your home is setup in terms of electrical, plumbing, etc making it much easier when / if there are repairs or issues. Super impressed!!!!

I’ve been going to #PalmSprings almost every summer w my parents since I was 3 years old. This house really grasps the iconic mid entry, modern vibes Palm Springs has to offer. Before looks much higher quality. The new shower will have issues draining. Without diagonal cuts, large tiles do not follow the slope of the shower pan.

Please give your dad a huge hug from me. I miss my own father so much, he would do these "home projects" and let me help and honestly I am crying because I miss him and doing whatever was on his "honey do" list because I learned so much about home care years later I am well versed in attic fans and plumbing ( :) ) . Sincerely, take your dad to dinner and just hug him and tell him he's the best. Trust me I know I miss my dad and I can't tell him that today.

Awesome Shelby! So glad you jumped into this, it opens up a whole new world doing things like this yourself. I know I love watching this type of content and I bet alot of others do too. Did you have to get permits? I know in Cali you need a frieken permit to change out a sheet of drywall in some cases. Two thumbs up!
