In May of this year the Holy Spirit spoke to me about the type of music I was listening to, and it was so convincing, that I left it, it was very difficult but I asked Jesus to help me, and now I really enjoy listening to only criatian music, when I hear secular music I feel very bad and I don't tolerate it even a little, girl I identify with every word you said, the Lord is good 🙌

Girl this is how I feel! One night it hit me that I was trying SO hard to make excuses to listen to the music I want and it has become an idol. It’s easy to look and judge the people of the Bible for worshipping a golden calf but aren’t I worshipping trap music by putting it on such a pedestal? I have started to incorporate more worship and when I tell you that I feel more energized and whole. I just downloaded your gym playlist today and I just want to thank you for being so open about your journey! Your inner light and seeing you so on fire for Jesus rejuvenates my soul. ❤❤

Yes, secular music made me think differently and focus on wordly things and trends. I have cut off all secular songs and sometimes I still get tempted to listen to them, but gospel music really encourages me.

dude yes! when you said that the Holy Spirit convicts us of stuff that separates us from him... this is exactly what ive been feeling. Ive been feeling so convicted about my addiction to technology and it just doesn't sit right with my spirit. I don't even have any social media which is the funny part but KZbin has me wrapped. But it really does separate me from God more because im filling all my quiet moments with noise when I could be praying or reading my bible or just being more productive towards the things God has given me a purpose in.

I became a Christian at the age of 40 a few years ago, the Holy Spirit showed me that secular music was increasing my anxiety and negative thoughts. Now at the gym I just listen to Christian podcasts or just nothing 😀 The Holy Spirit also showed me the demonic symbolism in some album art (like a hand doing the three sixes sign).

I stopped listening to secular music a while ago, but I HAVE TO SAY THIS. If you would like to listen to rap music that glorifies God, then I suggest listening to “Young Don Reborn’s music & MTM Isaiah”. In my honest opinion, they are very safe. Their beat is catchy and the lyrics literally glorifies God. Especially MTM Isaiah latest album called “Good News” and Young Don Reborn’s song called “Most High”. Have a bless day!

I am very convicted. I was listening to some secular song tonight and I just felt it in my heart that I was not supposed to be doing it. And I have noticed the mood changes while I do listen to these songs now. You are correct. I just feel so much better when I listen to worship music! So thank you for this video! 😃

I loved hearing your story and how God convicted you over time cuz for me, when I got saved the desire to listen to secular music went away over night pretty much and I switched Christian music! I listen to zero rap ( thats where most of my problems were ) and have now been working on letting go of music with cursing as a whole ( i can't give up on Disney LOL) and I've started going to church more ! I’ve been trying for a little while now to give up rap because I feel like that’s the music that’s mostly affecting my relationship with God and I cut off most of the rap a while ago but was holding onto a few artists still so thank you so much this motivated me to delete those few rappers I wouldn’t delete off my music

When it comes to lukewarm Christians, I was it. About a year ago, God put it in my heart to stop listening to secular music. I stopped smoking weed at that same time as well. He gave me the realization that I was putting those things above Him and he removed them. I've since been Baptized and it's been tough. He will remove what is not of Him out of your life. People, habits, characteristics. Stand strong in Faith and remember to put on the whole Armor of God before starting your day.

Make sure that all that you do as a christian do not do it beacuase a routine but because we love God and sometimes I know it might be hard and we fail but repent and get back on track ❤

Hi! Thankyou for the support! Like I said, these are my convictions personally, but pray about what you're listening too and allowing yourself to take in. The Holy Spirit will guide you. I don't think ALL R&B artist are demonic and have impure intentions when creating music, I just personally did a fast from all music in general so I was able to clearly understand the different. Hope this helps!

Hey Kyndel! I would love if you could make a video about dealing with adhd as a Christian. I do not self diagnose, one because obviously I’m not a doctor or psychologist, and two, because I start to get anxious about something that I don’t even know. Watching a lot of videos, especially on social media, I do happen to have most if not all the symptoms of adhd. Because I’ve never been clinically diagnosed, I don’t let it get to my head, but as a Christian, I feel my way of living has been declining. For pretty much all my life, I’ve never been good at school, always procrastinated, and I’ve always been called lazy, especially by mom. Today, as a 22 year old young woman, I have the same routines and old habits I’ve had since I was young, always leaving things for last minute to the point that I don’t get it done, no self discipline (which is a fruit of the Spirit I Iack heavily), my health is declining, my room has been a mess for about 2 months now, and I find my relationship with God very rocky because I haven’t been making time for Him. I could use some advice from a sister in Christ🙏🏼

If anyone wants Christian R&B artist recommendations that are ACTUALLY GOOD I got some: A’sha, ALIA LARA, Sara Nathalié, CéJae, Eris Ford, Wande. If anyone has more similar to these lemme knowww! ❤ I’m on a music journey myself. Got convicted of listening to secular music in April of 2023 and it’s been the hardest thing I had to let go of thus far. I ended up deleting my entire music subscription altogether (omg!), but it’s definitely been for the best. Music has more influence than you think and can subconsciously influence your thoughts and actions. I thought listening to that kind of music was a kind of validation / emotional release, but I realized it was actually fueling those negative emotions I was feeling and things became really dark. Can’t lie, I still miss my old music sometimes and I think I’ll slowly start to add songs that are neutral (non-Christian, but still positive and uplifting) eventually. But for right now, I’m enjoying having a clean slate and a mind that isn’t clouded by toxicity. 🥰

Make sure ya'll look at the origins of the genres of music too though. Since something literally made to glorify satan cannot be changed to glorify the Lord, we have to be careful as Christians.

So, This was just a personal conviction for me to do a fast, I am still going to listen to "secular" music after this year because not all music is bad or demonic, however, its important to have the discernment to shut off music that is interfering with you walk with God. Pray about it and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. :)
