Honestly, I have been doing extensions for over 5 years, and wearing gloves while handling the tweezers are tough. Keep in mind that the tweezers are super sharp and we’re near your eye, so handling the tweezers with a strong grip is VERY important, and grip is compromised with gloves.

@@dontreldontrel416 I actually have trichs on my top eyelashes, I pull them out, and it’s gotten to a point where I do it even in my sleep because it’s been something I’ve had since I was 8 years old (I’m now 21 years old and I still suffer with it), it’s not fun when you’re getting told that you look inhuman and look like an alien for something that is at this point... beyond your control. Trichs is something that needs to be spoken about more often for awareness, because it’s no joke 🥴 it really does affect many people sadly (including me)

Yes so I watched this video and I am a lash tech! You don’t need gloves, however you need to be washing your hands and applying hand sanitizer after and before every client. Personally I think this was crazy for $300 and also the lash strips were dusty etc.

I was never trained to wear gloves. You wash and sanitise them and make sure everything is clean. 😁

We cleanse with soap and water, and sanitize throughout the procedure. Wearing gloves will be too cumbersome for such a delicate procedure, and might give glove wearers the false sense that their hands are cleaner than it really is, resulting in less hand washing and sanitising before, during and after the process when in gloves. I would compare it to the time I went to subway and saw an employee touch the equipment, trays, countertops and cash register with the same pair of gloves that they use to top the sandwich with vegetables🤮

Ugh. I'm a lash tech. I wear gloves. This lash tech bothers me a ton. How much the eye is open during the procedure really worries me. The seal should never be opened unless the adhesive is dry. The chemical fumes can cause chemical burns to the eye. Also. These are CLASSIC lasg extensions on the uppers. $300 is fairly pricy for this entire procedure. And the use of clear glue (likely to reduce fumes) will likely result in reduced retention. I have so many questions. Did the artist make this choice because her technique involves breaking the seal between the eyelids?

I’m a licensed lash technician and although the tech did an amazing application, all lashes should be stored in a sealed container so no dust collects on the lashes. Very important step in sanitation
