if anyone is considering this procedure, essentially it’s just a root perm, you can ask your stylist to change the parts you don’t like with the perm solution. when the roots grow out, probably within a month or two, you will see the perm bump and it can be really obvious depending on your hair type/how aggressive the perm solution was. I do this regularly and have fine asian hair, you will need regular maintenance depending on how fast your hair grows, it can be like 1 hair appointment every 2-3 months. if you have a lot of hair/very thick heavy hair, you might not benefit from this procedure because your hair will just weigh down the perm. your stylist might need to layer ALOT to reduce your hair weight, so it’s something to consider as well.

Korea's hair saloons are on another level, I wish I could go to one... I had been hating how my hair looks lately and the salons around here that I can afford have no idea how to make your hair look good :')
@willcookmakeup
@willcookmakeup Жыл бұрын
Omg truly. I've had my hair permed so many times and also went to esthetics school which had a cosmetology program as well. I sat in on a lot of the perm classes the cosmetology students were taking just to watch, and this is absolutely next level and not even comparable to the kind of service you'd get here in the states. US perm techniques don't hold a flame to what artists are doing in Korea. I've never seen anything like this done before. Like, Tina's part is completely hidden and the shaoe from the back looks insane
@jgs3174
@jgs3174 Жыл бұрын
No hate! I think you mean salons? Saloons are the bars for cowboys in spaghetti westerns
@willcookmakeup
@willcookmakeup Жыл бұрын
@@jgs3174 I'm sure it wasn't meant in a hateful way at all, but why even bring it up? It's obviously a typo. No one gains anything from a mistake bring brought up that can't be fixed or has no resulting learned lesson from. Like, now the original commenter might feel embarrassed for the typo (which I hope not, cause they did nothing wrong) and potentially think they said the wrong thing. Also for all you know english might be their second language (which in this instance I don't think that is the case). But still, there was no need to point that out in a condescending tone of speech which your comment definitely had.
@2ndEssi
@2ndEssi Жыл бұрын
@@willcookmakeup what a weird overreaction. their comment didn’t have any condescension in it, but yours did. also, what about using the wrong word can’t be ‘fixed’ in your eyes? even if it was a second language, how do you expect people to learn if no one ever corrects them? and they did it nicely. it’s literally 3 sentences including clarification and it starts with ‘no hate’ to clarify they were doing it to be helpful not judgemental. you just took it personally for no reason. nothing you said applies at all.
@willcookmakeup
@willcookmakeup Жыл бұрын
@@2ndEssi honestly after rereading everything, you're absolutely in the right. As someone who is bilingual, you are totally right in that being corrected is helpful and isn't a bad thing when learning a new language and I should have remembered that. My tone was definitely condescending, and I hear it now. I think the saloon cowboy part is what sounded rude and unnecessary to me. Which in some ways I still abide by that. But overall, I think I wasn't in then right frame of mind to post that response right after a night of bar crawling for a friend's birthday. Thank you for your response, and doing so in a respectful and not argumentative way. You never swore or swung insults my way which we see so often in comments. Thank you, my original post came from a place of wanting to defend that other person, but resulted in my myself being the "bully". I appreciate you calling me out on that.

I called at least 5 reputable Korean hair salons in LA for this treatment, and they all refused to do this because they said root perm is extremely damaging to hair and does not last meaningfully long enough for the benefits. For those who are interested in this treatment, please be aware!

Every perm goes to the roots and is damaging to hair. I’m surprised they said that. Maybe that technique hasn’t arrived in the USA yet.

Actually perming process nowadays isn’t as damaging as it once before if the salon use newer products
@helpanimals-

@@dgmojojojo still damaging. I've read more into it, there are 2 types of perms. I think we're just gonna have to accept the fact that there is no magical cure for thinning/ thin hair types

The new shape looks great! Visually he is using stylizing techniques that we use for animation character development. I love that in this period that we are in, clothe-wise, hair-wise, make up-wise and generally fashion-wise we are able to create more dynamic shapes and figures. Compare your hair with the character of Alva from the animated movie Klaus (2019) and you’ll see exactly what I'm talking about.😀

Since it's a perm, I would imagine it lasts till it grows out, depending on how strong the solution is and the type of hair you have. I also think it has to be pretty pricey, not sure tho.

You can also get these on the bottom to make hair curl in for a bob or curl out ..or for a fringe. Its not a perm but more semi ... as it grows out it would get wavy and no lie right...as you get it done just make sure you realize it has to grow out and make sure the hairdresser adapts or if you keep getting it done almost your whole head will be permed it has to really be a semi also you can get these treatments in the west i used to do them as an assistant like years ago .. root perms /semis are really common

The parting perm is ingenious and I must keep an 👁 out for the eyebrow perm, it might thicken up my fine hair eyebrows
@Kiarakc_
@Kiarakc_ Жыл бұрын
Perming solutions do not thicken hair strands, it just makes them form in a certain way like her eyebrow hairs stay lifted up and won’t look a mess the next day. The solutions do wear off so everything goes back to normal and perming solutions cause damage on hair on our scalp so I’m sure it will be the same, maybe even worse on our eyebrows if used too much or incorrectly
