Every time I hear this song i remember waking up on the morning of September 20, 1973 as a freshman in my dorm room hearing the news that Jim Croce had died in a plane crash and then the DJ played this song. I laid in my bed just listening to this song with tears in my eyes. This song was released the next day.

Jim Croce released five studio albums with many hit singles all before the age of 31. He died on September 20, 1973, the day before the lead single to his fifth album, I Got a Name, was released. Grateful for his music and yet saddened for the songs the never came to be. Hats off to James Joseph Croce.

Like the pine trees lining the winding road, I've got a name, I've got a name. Like the singing bird and the croaking toad, I've got a name, I've got a name. And I carry it with me like my daddy did, But I'm living the dream - that he kept hid. Moving me down the highway, Rolling me down the highway, Moving ahead so life won't pass me by. Like the North wind whistling down the sky, I've got a song, I've got a song. Like the whip-poor-will and the babies crying, I've got a song, I've got a song. And I carry it with me and I sing it proud, If it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud. Moving me down the highway, Rolling me down the highway, Moving ahead so life won't pass me by. And I'm gonna go there free. Like the fool I am and I'll always be, I've got a dream, I've got a dream. They can change their minds but they can't change me, I've got a dream, I've got a dream. I know I could share it if you want me to. If you're going my way - I'll go with you. Moving me down the highway, Rolling me down the highway, Moving ahead so life won't pass me by. Moving me down the highway, Rolling me down the highway, Moving ahead so life won't.... pass me by.

I got a name Jim Croce I got a name Like the pine trees lining the winding road I got a name, I got a name Like the singing bird and the croaking toad I got a name, I got a name And I carry it with me like my daddy did But I'm living the dream that he kept hid Moving me down the highway Rolling me down the highway Moving ahead so life won't pass me by Like the north wind whistling down the sky I've got a song, I've got a song Like the whippoorwill and the baby's cry I've got a song, I've got a song And I carry it with me and I sing it loud If it gets me nowhere, Даже если мой пусть ведет меня в никуда, I go there proud Я иду туда с гордостью. Реклама favicon Перейти Moving me down the highway Rolling me down the highway Moving ahead so life won't pass me by And I'm gonna go there free Like the fool I am and I'll always be I've got a dream, I've got a dream They can change their minds but they can't change me I've got a dream, I've got a dream Well, I know I can share it if you want me to If you're going my way, I'll go with you Moving me down the highway Rolling me down the highway Moving ahead so life won't pass me by
