Nice proper studio desk. Everything within arms reach. 👍

Yeah it’s been great and fully multi-user - as a musician and also a KZbinr, it’s been a desk of 2 lives and has done so well so far. 👍🏻 I’m impressed with it.

Great video, you showed a lot of detail and made it super clear. I particularly liked your point about not glueing it so you can move it if need be. Super tip for those of us in the rental world. The only question I’m left with is: is it real wood or particle board?
@JohnPaulMusicUK3 ай бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Particle board. I think real wood would have cost a lot more. 👍
@wylatron3 ай бұрын
@@JohnPaulMusicUK yah I bet… sort of makes me nervous to have particle board considering I would have to eventually move. Its plenty expensive if it fell apart when trying to disassemble and reassemble it😅 Thanks for the quick response🙌🏻

How would you describe the extendable keyboard tray? I’ve heard it’s quite flimsy but am really looking to find some better feedback about this desk!

So, six months in, any problems with not using the glue?

its 100% fine. moved it and it hasn't fallen apart! hahaha.

Very timely video, thanks! I'm planning to relocate my studio and have had my eye on one of these to replace a Quiklok Z-250 workstation. I was wondering about the feasibility of dissassembling the Glorious, so interesting that you opted not to glue the dowels - presumably your desk hasn't fallen apart yet as a consequence? 🙂 The price is very attractive, as anything else at all similar I've looked at has come in at around three times the price - and more. OK, so they're ultra posh and made of solid wood and metal, but I don't need to impress clients - just house my gear sensibly! So, any regrets? Or would you still recommend it after 6 months' use?
@JohnPaulMusicUK14 күн бұрын
Wow.. has it really been 6 months already?! No, no regrets . Would say that with the keyboard try lowered it’s a bit tight getting knees underneath and the keyboard tray is a bit slim having upgraded to the Keylab MK3 but other than the fake wood circular stickers to cover the screws that have fallen off.. no, it’s great and work on it all the time. It’s my daily and not changing it anytime soon. The cable management with the holes and that huge tray at the back is great and still would recommend it. I’ve taken off the corner piece that holds the side unit as it was annoying me and now the unit is separate.. but that’s okay for me. 👍🏻 Hope that helps.

@@JohnPaulMusicUK Yes it does help, thanks! One more question if you don't mind... The keyboard I'd be using it with is a Kurzweil PC3, which is 35.5cm front to back, and 12cm deep. Would that require setting the tray to its lowest position, or is there enough headroom to set it a bit higher for more knee room? I checked the dimensions of the Keylab Mk3, and it's smaller than the Kurzweil - 27.8cm front to back and 7.4 deep. In a nutshell, is there enough clearance on the tray heightwise for the PC3, and will I be able to fully close the tray? Thanks for bearing with me!

Hey John - I just ordered this desk, and am waiting for it to arrive. But I’m worried it won’t be able to handle my NI Komplete Kontrol s88. It weighs 29lbs. Thoughts on this?
@JohnPaulMusicUK4 ай бұрын
Hey. The keyboard tray load can handle up to 15 kg MAX. Converting that into pounds is 33.07lbs but the recommended is 12.5 kg which is 27.56lbs. So it will do it but I think you’ll have to be careful loading it on. Hope that helps.

Hey @matthewlevin3671 was the desk able to accommodate the height of your S88?

Did the keyboard fit?
@KeyboardManАй бұрын
Do you think it would be difficult to drill lower holes to accommodate a slightly taller keyboard?
@JohnPaulMusicUKАй бұрын
Great question. There are 6 holes pre-drilled at the following heights from the main part of the Desk: 55mm with 705mm clearance (from floor to desk) 75mm with 685mm clearance (how mine was shipped) 85mm with 675mm clearance 105mm with 655mm clearance (where mine is now) 115mm with 645mm clearance 125mm with 635mm clearance The only issue you might come across is that if you put it lower, your knee’s might not fit under it. Hope that helps
@KeyboardManАй бұрын
I saw that there is a beam near the front of the underside of the desk that shortens the clearance by about 20mm (so the 105mm of clearance would actually be about 85mm) I’m not that tall so I was hoping to possibly drill a lower row to be able to fit a taller keyboard

They are absolutely fine and they do click in the keyboard tray when pushed all the way back. I’m using at kneeling chair and there is no issue but there are 6 different heights. 👍
