Hey 👋. I just got one of these bikes and I want to make mine look like yours . I was wondering if you could send the links to the gauge tack you have . And also handlebar switches .

Question. With those pod air filters on the carbs, what if it’s raining when you’re out riding, will that water bypass the filters and get into the fuel? I’m thinking that’s why the air box was designed that way, to allow riding in the rain?

These are great bikes.

Thanks for the video. I have a 1980 400CM T and my battery is hidden behind plastic panels, a real eye soar as far as I'm concerned. Where did you put your battery?
@GridWerksGarage5 жыл бұрын
Illinois battery specialists. On of my low key sponsors they have been hooking it up with batteries since I turned 16.

I'm 75 years old and as you can imagine when I first started watching this video and saw how you MUTILATED that poor bike, I wanted to smack you with a newspaper. But, the more I kept watching the more I liked the work you had done. The headlight work is tremendous as are the taillights. Removing the airbox does give you more room to do maintenance on the bike although that gaping hole takes some getting used to. How do you know how to adjust the carb jets to compensate for no airbox? I do HATE that shortened front fender, though. Fenders keep water and mud from being thrown up on you or dirt and gravel.

Hi! Awesome bike! Im am working on an 81' model and bought the same headlight you have. However, i am having dificulties with the turn signals, they are not flashing. Did you end up using a new flasher? i have two cables that i dont know where to connect. Please advise. Thank you.
@GridWerksGarage7 жыл бұрын
+Rey Rebolledo yeah i ended up using a new flashing relay.

Did that seat require modifications?
@randallissimo3 жыл бұрын
Um, rectifier and voltage regulator are NOT the same thing.
@MrACV247 жыл бұрын
I have a similar issue with too high of voltage running to the battery. Let me get this straight...off of the regulator/rectifier the red goes to battery positive, the green to ground and black taps into the positive side of the electrical system wiring?
@GridWerksGarage7 жыл бұрын
+MrACV24 correct that's how my specific one worked. I would look up a wiring diagram for your regulator
@MrACV247 жыл бұрын
Mankey Mechanics I did, that's how I figured it worked, just wanted a second opinion. My rr was out and was putting out crazy voltage to my battery which in turn fried haha.

I'm thinking about buying one of those for myself; my only concern is that they might be a bit smallish (I'm 5'11 / 210 lbs). Just to give me an idea - how tall are you ? Thanks !
@tristan16623 жыл бұрын
Might be a little late, but I'm around 5'7 and the bike is perfect size for me. I'd say its probably not the best pick for you

@@daweelzondabus no problem, its still a really good beginner bike. You might look a little tall for it, But who am I to judge. just make sure you get it for the right price if you do!!

Its really good at handling and I can guarantee you can move that thing around easy at your height and weight. Me and my pops were planning on trying to turn ours into a chopper haha
