I have a toy chihuahuas 2lbs full grown 1yr old she goes outside plus uses the potty pads does great both ways an sleeps with me all the time wakes me up every few hrs,lol good luck you'll love her alot.

Whenever you plan on leaving her home start off slow with leaving her by herself for 5 mins then give treats. Next time for 10mins then give her treats. Just work your way up to hours so she won’t freak out. You got me ready to have another fur baby lol

I’m a dog mom! We did not use pee pads at all! I also walked my dog each time. The trick is to stick to a VERY strict schedule! Basically dogs can hold their pee for one hour for every month that they are! So I was taking my dog to potty every hour for like the first two weeks and then every two hours and each month we would increase the hours. Lots of treats and praise when they go on then grass!! At night he went in a crate and I would wake up and take him out on the same schedule throughout the night. By the time he was 4 months he was sleeping completely through the night. It was worth it because he’s 3 and had never had an accident outside of the first like week or two. He’s SO SO good with going potty. I do take him out like 2-3 times a day now! You don’t have to worry about leaving them longer hours, dogs can hold it for like 5-8 hours.

Potty training trick, if you see her going potty not where you want her, pick her up immediately, even if she’s is going and place her on the potty pad or grass. Redirect her to go there and if she finishes going on the right spot reward her!

as a dog mom, who also lives in the apartment. the grass patch outside is amazing. i used to put puppy pads all over the house, then slowly id put less and then i would would put pee pads also by the sliding door so he would know to go there for the bathroom then it went to just the grass patch outside and he would scratch the door to let me know he has to go potty! dogs are soo smart, she will learn fast! also shes soooo cute

Yes this! They need multiple pee pads in different areas at first cause if they are in the kitchen and don’t see one next to them they forget and don’t know there is one right in the next room when they are so young. Then we did start taking them away slowly as he got older starting with the ones furthest from the door with our grass pad on our balcony 👍

Just have your dog on a schedule! Also when u potty train you have to take them out multiple times a day and be kinda excessive with it until its trained. Potty training is everything and dogs should be able to hold their pee up to 12 hrs so u wouldnt really have to use pee pads after shes trained. I have a vet in OC that I LOVEEEEEE if you are interested! She is so cute and small for u to be able to fly with her lol
