When I got my manual wheel chair, a gift from my sister, I felt ashamed. But then as I used it afforded me the opportunities to enjoy life more. I used at the zoo and my kids pushed me, an adventure I never would have had without the wheelchair! Enjoy your power chair, you will love your new found ability to conquer more❤❤❤

I’m currently thinking about getting a mobility aid but it’s hard mentally because it feels like giving up

I love this for you! I got my first wheelchair about 3 years ago (as a 19 year old) when my PoTs symptoms first started because I literally currently stand without fainting! 3 years later, i’ve had 4 wheelchairs, two manual and two electric and can honestly say they’ve changed my life so much and allowed me to be able to go out and do so much more than I was able too before! I hope it offers you the same opportunities🥰

Its so great you are finding ways to improve your life! This should make flare up days better! ❤ You need a name for your wheelchair! ❤😂 You will have to get used to saying wheeling or rolling around instead of walking! ❤ Great to see such a big smile on ypur face

I'm thankful for mine, but I wish I could walk and not need it 24/7. I have cerebral palsy and am a full-time wheelchair user, and people have to lift me for transfers does your insurance cover a chair. Medicaid paid for my power chair in full, and I can't walk at all. For me, a wheelchair isn't exciting. Because I have to be in it all the time. It does make a recliner so I'm grateful, but it's still uncomfortable after all day. I can lay all the way back if needed

@@caseyslifewithcp3727 I have CP too. I am in my chair at any point I am not in bed . I have had several chairs over the years. My Dad got me a tilt in space manual chair which is fabulous. I still have my very old other manual chair that I can use for a very few hours. The tilt in space will not fit though his house door way and it would take to people to lift it over the threshold. I on an off think about a power chair as I have not had a seizure 4/ two years now. I have a few problems with Depth Perception which makes me very reluctant to try a power chair at this point in life. I had one when I was in my late teens for awhile but I knew the area I lived very well and it was very flat. I flipped it off a curb because I couldn’t tell, that the curb was there and the road was on a different level if that makes sense, even though I have okay vision in general.

I still get a bit excited for a new chair even now. I am on about my 10th year over the course of my life.
