My advice is to use a company who is a pure visa company...not a travel agent who arranges visa's as a side hustle, or a law office which claims to do everything...the Visa company I use is slightly more expensive but are very professional

Totally agree! You want someone who knows their stuff when it comes to visas, not someone who's juggling a hundred side gigs!

I ve had the same problem with an agent that I knew for years and because of his mismanagement I was forced to leave the country through Poipet hours before my visa was to expire. The agents here have a very bad habit of pretending that everything is fine to the point that they tell you that they will sort everything out during your oblverstay. My agent told me I could overstay and he would sort it out, but I had the good sense to take my passport back and leave.
@PumpuyiPresents5 күн бұрын
It's really unfortunate to hear that you've had a similar experience. It's always better to trust your instincts in these situations. Your proactive decision to take back your passport was definitely the right call!
@AntidOto-fp8dr5 күн бұрын
@@PumpuyiPresents yes, I managed to return and get my affairs sorted out eventually with another agent. This stiry about the “passport forgotten in the drawer” is quite common. A guy overstayed one year in Thailand while his passport was gathering dust somewhere in a desk. Luckily he managed to leave by himself and sort out the fine at the airport before they detained him. There is actually a huge expat community in Cambodia formed out of people who had problems with their visas in Thailand, and the Cambodians are capitalizing on this by making it very easy for you to retire, or extend your visa.

Just listening to your video and problems sounds really stressfully and the money issues u have payed for upfront. I had similar but luckily my intuition said walk away. I went to a agent wanted money upfront and said would take a month for process .somehow i went cold and said id come back later .guess what walked by 2 weeks later and the shop was closed up empty. .id have been really in the garden..dead lol money and passport missing .best of luck i really hope it is resolved

@PumpuyiPresents hi .I'm sorry about your situation .terrible .I'm not hopeful for u .only real option is the police .in my case if I'd payed and left the passport I'd have been suicidal as definitely bye chance o walking bye and shop closed up empty. I dread to think what ...I just felt something off in my head intuition or people trust issues..I'm really hoping for your outcome of good news .I understand your frustration and situation.
@PumpuyiPresents7 күн бұрын
Yes that’s my step today, the police. Only thing is the Thais protect the Thais so unlikely that will produce a positive result but it won’t stop me making the report. It would be wrong to give up before trying every reasonable step. I am getting my head around accepting the loss, as following the legal process here is just financial folly. I’ll gather myself and press on to fight another day. Wish I could say easy come easy go but it was quite the opposite. I’m sure the haters will be pleased with my outcome as they have indicated I deserve it. Such wonderful people in the world. Thankfully most as decent, like yourself. I appreciate your comments.

@PumpuyiPresents . The situation isn't your fault all these saying u don't need a agency etc do it yourself. well it's not easy as there implying and immigration preference is a agency because they get a cut of the money everytime ..so go bye yourself they find faults .a friend went to immigration himself gave up because of red tape. Basically insisted on a original document and not photo copied .he couldn't find it ..mislaid..went to agency and bingo no problem .I'm really sorry for you .I agree the police are thai friendly. I was at traffic lights stopped one guy farang no helmet on bike stopped him fine yet thai boys no helmet next to him didn't bother him..I'd report it for clarity. U have nothing to loose either way that's my opinion..best of luck in that case

Just do another vlog about different visa agents shop, say 2 or 3 shops. But on another vlog indirectly say I’m showing them in preference order and do the bad one first but don’t say anything bad on vlog, just show the shop where it is and say they do this, that etc. if you want to warn people, if you feel that strongly about it

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely consider doing a vlog like that to help others make informed choices about visa agents.

Conversion from 60 day Visa Exempt to Non-IMM O have to be sent to Bangkok for the final approval but normally a Visa Agent should only need your passport for 1 week, maybe 10 days if there are Public Holidays. Go to Maneerat (Soi 13/2, Soi Post Office) IIRC it's around 25K (30K if you need them to get you a Bank Account).

Why pay an agent? it's TM87 form and 1900 baht at any immigration office.
@harrykeogh39949 күн бұрын
@@clivebaxter6354 I think the main reason most guys use an Agent is they don't have a Thai Bank account that has had 800,000 THB in it for 2 months and as it's much harder to get a bank account if you don't have a long term visa nowadays so it's a bit of a Catch 22 situation easiest resolved by getting an Agent to do everything for you. Another alternative is getting a Non-IMM O before you come to Thailand either from your home country or a nearby one (I got mine from Penang but I don't think they do them anymore, should be able to get one from Laos or Vietnam though) - If I had to get one again I'd get it from UK.

Why go to an agent in the first place? If you can fulfill the conditions to qualify for a longer-term visa, just go to Immigration and do it yourself. They'll tell you exactly what documents etc. you need and it'll save you a ton of money.

My sister retired to Thailand 20 years ago as a millionaire and did the process herself for 13 years, but in the past 7 years it has gotten harder and harder for her to get the visa, to the point that she has to get an agent to help with the paperwork and with the enquiries of the officers, so it s not that easy actually for some people to get their visas renewed and you would not want to end up at the age of 81 waiting in Cambodia. or Laos to get your visa sorted after 23 years of uninterupted stay in Thailand
