not to discredit him but I feel like its somewhat narrow minded. I think adcs are incredible important, but I think they are easily the most frustrating, and obviously potentially the most useless role. Since ya know, no utility and squishy. But I think the problem with adc isn't really the role per se, I think its the duoality of the role with support. Support basically dictates an adc's value at their own discression. If you ever played an assassin against a fed adc with a support that won't hop off their dick, its so miserable. But on the contrast, when an adc is left alone to farm or just in lane because their sup doesn't wanna show. Its basically just a free bag of gold. I think that's why adcs when they were strong just went mid and top as well, and that just makes it to where adc items get nerfed

Isn't there a middle ground where ADC's can feel useful, even alone without support hugging them 24/7, but still not dominate other lanes? Especially in this meta where supports are required to roam constantly topside for grubs and herald.

ADCs have no good first item, there are no anti tank items like they used to and crit does nos scale very well nowadays. So no early game ADCs, they are bad in front to back games and they do not scale as well as mages who also have a better spike in lane with Lost Chapter, those are the problems now

you missed like the 2 month adc meta.. bring them all over the map top mid bot even supp with chamsp like ashe.. but even that wasnt really "adc" more so, auto attackers.. absord life + fleet + dblade + bloodthirster rush.. it was just full lane cockroach.. you out push mages since their push costs mana and yours "doesn't" really, you outsustain their poke, and its basically just scaling champ with free lane phase. 2 months or so of that being meta in high elo/pro and riot killed it.

I also love how he asked questions no matter how silly they sounded and even questioned his own thoughts against his. Like "should we be worried about jungler" or "should I fight for vision" or "when do you even fight?". I liked all those simple questions and the answer we got 9/10 times was basically fight for prio to buy yourself time, then consider these things and take a turn for whatever you want. That's how I interpreted it. It's simple things but easily forgotten, especially when 30 kinds of new nonsense are going on in the game right now and the role feels hopeless and you're willing to throw the game even sometimes just to try something new or learn. I especially needed this refresher.

i swear saber said in so many vids last year that its super important to always try and keep mid prio and once the wave comes back your turn is over, so it feels kinda weird to see those mistakes (im only at 26 minutes right now so maybe it only happened once but still) Following that rule helped me a ton in my games

Imo, the higher you are it’s less likely for people to make a mistake that allow you to fully burst them to 0. Getting that allow him to have mana, shield for protection, high cds for skill rotation and movespeed from cosmic skill rotation which overall will improve his survivability. If u live longer, you throw more spells and more spells = more dmg. And if i am not wrong the item combination has a lower gold requirement so it allow him to spike faster while not having to sacrifice too much dmg or scale overall.

I Just don't understand how we went from durability patch, to sugar glass cannon. I know i've been away from the game for 2 years. I'd taken notes here and there, but low key I feel more squishy now than I ever have on adc. I know that is the point of the role to have high damage to tanks and towers, but not to be tanky. but right now supports like Nautilus can 1v1 one you and not even fear if they have the damage. If he lands a hook it is into an auto that stuns you. he drops his E to deal more damage to you and his W shield is up. So already he's put more damage into you than you could onto him, and when you've finally gotten to that point where you can start dpsing, your 1/3 hp down. If his ADC is there as well. chances are you are 2/3s HP down at a minimum, so retaliating isn't even an option at all. You just need to get out of the situation, back or hug the tower. And ofcourse now any lane prio you've started is completely gone. Then if you back, well not only have you handed the priority over to them, but they will likely push the wave, get plate, and back. Now they have the pressure, the gold lead, and either you are stuck at tower farming, or you back and lose cs. I'm not looking to be a ranged bruiser, but there is a difference between the sugar glass you see used in movies, and tempered glass for items IRL. Sugar glass if a wrong enough fart you can crack it, tempered glass you can drop it and maybe chip it, but both are glass, and both with a big enough hit will shatter and break. Right now it feels to me like all ADC's are made of Sugar glass, but we don't even have the damage to warrant calling us a Glass Canon. No Armor or MR runes also just feels bad. I don't know if they baked what they took away into every champion, but not being able to choose the mitigation you want if any just FEELS bad. This is the same situation we were in back when either defensive runes got nerfed or runes reforged. And honestly rune system now from all the nerfs feels as bad and as early gamed focused as the original Rune system was. If you don't know or don't remember the old rune system was all about the early game. because about level 6, runes stopped mattering due to gear and level. The only ones that would not not matter are the scaling runes, but they left you incredibly weak early on to counter the benefits that they did give later on. I mean I'm starting to wonder if as an ADC I shouldn't go back to the like season 3 start of Blood thirster first item. For the sustain, and the shield. Shield bow? was an amazing item, now it shit, cause you can't fit it into an auto attack adc's build. Hell you almost can't even fit Blood thirster into an adc build, because you need that first 2 item spike, and if they have a tank, you gotta get that armor shred item in there 3rd item, or you might as well be Ana from Overwatch just healing the enemy's tank. And god forbid you get behind, or your team put you in a position where you are behind in comparison to the enemy team. Then you have to go all out damage just to have a hope of getting through their front line or having any kind of threat on their carries. BUT, you are behind too, and you are made of sugar glass, so building a defensive item like they use too just puts you further and further behind. This season is all about the snowball affect. I know they have come out with "numbers" that show that they over all changes of the average game hasn't changed all that much, but that is the average, and who here feels like their games are "Average?" Who here, feels more like if you don't get feats of strength you might as well ff at 15? If the enemy team gets feats and soul, FF and go next, cause you'll need 30 minutes of farming just to have a hope for one fight that goes your way. I'm just silver trash, i made no illusion that i'm better than I am, but i've played this game long enough that I am no scrub. But right now I feel like Dyrus in the double jungle. 2v1 meta to top lane. I'm an ADC and I just want to play League of legends, but I can't. Cause I have no agency unless i'm facing the worst of the worst. Even in games where i'm doing great. I still have to wait in a team fight for 2 to 3 seconds for abilities to go out because clip damage from aoe's still chunk you like true damage. And in the span of League fight time 2 to 3 seconds the fight could be over. Then I watch Saber here who is a challenger, farms great, positions, kites, does everything as an adc your suppose to do at a skill level far behind where i am, and yet he too barely has any effect on many situations. Oh but if roles a mage, he go like 0/4 by mid game, and by the time he ends the game he's near or at top damage has 11 kills, and really feels like he got to play league of legends. Then he can go caitlyn be like 11/0 by mid game, have a full item lead on his opponent, and still feel like he is losing when it comes to the team fight.

There were basics to league Meta/Macro. Get towers, get neutrals, push your lead. In this season, Towers feel unimportant compared to feats, and neutrals. I've seen many a team look to get atakhan over dragons, rift herald over dragons, and so on. Middle lane tower was the most important tower to keep up because it offers the greatest freedom of entry into your own jungle if it goes down. You would top cover it when you were gone, ADCs, and supports cover it if you were gone, Junglers would cover it when you were gone. But not anymore. Yes I know this is partly due to skill level of the players i'm in the same elo as, but use too even the players of my level understood this. When I play mid I feel like I spend more time trying to fight around Neutrals than I get to spend in lane farming. I have to respond to so so much, that I let my own tower go down just to keep jungler alive and doing his job. Now days, it feels more like top and bottom towers are more important because of Atakhan. But if I say f'it and I stay in lane, the the enemy team gets leads. sure maybe I get my tower down, but yay I got a tower down, a tower that has so much less priority in the game now than every thing else. I know this comes down to my micro/macro of my midlane game. Something i'm working on constantly, but to me it feels like there is no time any more to worry about the 1v1, maybe you get 3 levels of that before you off to the races for feats, dragons, and grubs, that only feeds back into the feats of strength. yeah yay we got it, but I can't make use of it till I get 2 items, but I can't simply sit in lane and look to get every single cs I can, because again i'm off fighting for neutrals, and stopping invades, and anything and everything but lane. Mid lane as a mage player, yeah I got 2 items got my boots, and I feel powerful. ADC? Maybe I have 2 items and the boots, and I feel like i'm tickling champions, while I have a "curse of vulnerability" on me so that I take true damage from every single damage time in the game.

Yes. I main aphelios, cait, varus, who to me are more ability marksmen. Smolder falls into this category too especially if you build raw AD. His playstyle becomes very mage like which opens up the weakness of your team missing dps, but you oneshot waves and unlock a %max hp execute, which if you play safe enough, can have big impact in games. But he's squishy, isn't the best duelist and takes ADC amount of time to come online (mages come online sooner and other adcs can do much more when they come online). Depends all on if you like the playstyle.

I see how much he's emphasizing the importance of push into poke patterns. Like, first buy yourself just seconds of time by having the push and making them have to focus even an ounce more of their brain power on catching the minions and timing autos, then go for the poke in that short time interval. It makes sense and its like elementary school information in a way, but I also think with the new season and so many other things distracting me, I'm also butchering this so bad right now as well as like 20 other things. You at least have it all, but just need to sort out the order of operations differently in order of importance I guess? I also did not realize how much that still matters coming out of base either. I just group mindlessly too often when I think the enemies are doing something illegal as well and its like it doesn't matter apparently. It's more important to fight for gaining your turn (and prio) back rather than punishing them for taking a slightly longer turn than they should have. I guess if they take an extremely long turn, they'll punish themselves anyway at some point as long as you're working towards gaining that time. Hmm... The games so fast nowadays and ppl run out of base in 0.5 seconds now, so I guess it makes sense to fight for seconds of time more now over everything else, including vision. Like getting a kill to have them run right back when the wave isn't pushed doesn't truly gain you anything anyway, and going 1 for 1 just makes you worse cuz ADC role already has awful XP compared to everyone else too, so you're just getting weaker in those scenarios while everyone else is getting stronger technically. I don't think we should buff ADC items, but nerf tank items instead. The game is way too stat-heavy already. Maybe even hit some "1-item-solves all" bruiser items (Steraks, Titanic etc.)

Playing into double melee bot is not possible. The other day I was facing Sion/tahm and there is no chance you can poke them out or all in etc. They can challenge you everytime and heal back up. Even if you play on gumayusi level and your JG ganks and you kill them. Guess what? Nothing changes. They will lose few minions of exp and gold and for those tanks/bruisers it doesn't matter. They will tp back and you are out of summoners and fucked again. There is a little chance if you have zyra in your lane so she is dealing HP scaling damage and out damages any ADC

If support role is removed and you can get solo exp, then ADC can actually 1v1 people. It's an exp issue. Not an ADC sucks issue. Trist and corki mid were the best picks not long ago...they're ADC champs.

probably because he spent the last 2 split sidekicking yozu with a, if i may say, fking unbelievably good Zoe support. he's mostly silent cause it's high level coaching. this is a rank 1 adc in na coaching a Chall/Grandmanster adc, he doesnt need to point out the obvious like you would do we us plebs stuck in gold or below and what he says its specificly taylored to Saber's playstile rather than the generic advice that could be applied to anyone. the takeaway is that saber's got a bit in his own head thats hes useless so he doesnt pressure as much as he should cause he lost confidence in his ability to outplay and do damage and resorts to meaningless poke instead of focusing on whats important (wave management and objective control) basically Saber plays good but has not yet locked on to what it is important to win a game in s15 (he knows, he's just not taking the necessary steps to that end) I am sure that if Saber gain back a bit of confidence in his abilities and starts to understand what is the plan (not to outplay mechanically but to outplay strategically) he's gonna win a ton.
