There's a reason why the bow and arrow did so little damage when firing it straight up... it's a range based weapon and if there's one thing I've learned about shellshock from watching many shellshock videos from the Derp Crew (ChilledChaos, Galm, Smarty, ZeRoyalViking, Aphex, TomFawkes), any and all weapons whose damage is determined by distance will do maximum damage the further the target you hit happens to be, horizontally speaking. It's the same reason why you could be perched on a higher bit of terrain and shoot a sniper at a target far below and come nowhere close to 100 damage.

@Golden Eye Was it 1k damage with this specific weapon or a different weapon entirely because this game does have rules when it comes to certain weapons. ie) 3d bomb and all of its upgrades explode once it reaches 3 times the length of your power bar regardless if it hits another tank or completely misses. The payload drops its payload at the top of its arch. etc. Also, I never said anything about magic. Factual information for a strategy game does not equate to "magic". There is no magic; however, there is information, facts, and knowledge that can be gained by 1. reading the shellshock gamepedia wiki, 2. experience by testing out weapons, and 3. observing hundreds of videos of this game.

Points XP farm is one of the worst ways to get experience in the game. Kyle (kChamp) programmed most weapons to only give XP to a single tank with the same projectile, even if you hit 7 others with the same projectile. If you hit yourself with the same projectile that hit another tank, you will gain zero XP. For example, if you hit someone with Nuke doing 80 damage without hitting yourself, you gain 8 XP. If you hit 7 others with Nuke doing 80 damage, you still only get 8 XP, even though you did 560 damage. If you hit 7 others with Nuke, and you hit yourself, you gain 0 XP from the Nuke, unless you hit a bumper, portal, x2, black hole, or target, then you will get the number of plays you did times 5 XP, but still no XP from the Nuke. Almost the same with weapon XP for most weapons. Hitting yourself with a weapon will not reduce the weapon XP. It can only increase. But it still does not stack for most weapons. For example. if the lobby multiplier is 1.5x XP, and you do 80 damage to everyone including yourself, you will get 120 XP for that weapon, even though you did 560 damage to others. Charge weapon XP farm is one of the better ways to get weapon XP if you want weapon XP. There are 22 weapons that gives more XP and weapon XP for hitting more than one tank with the same projectile. All of these weapons will go through shield as well. Earthquake, Mega-Quake, Zipper, Double Zipper, Zipper Quad, Ringer, Heavy Ringer, Olympic Ringer, Shank, Dagger, Sword, Shockwave, Sonic Pulse, Partition, Division, Laser Beam, Great Beam, Ultra Beam, Master Beam, Relocator, Displacement Bomb, Taser, and Heavy Taser.

they seem to forget moves like bouncy ball and bow&arrow are designed to do more damage the further away you are. bouncy does 40 on top of you. Bouncy I think is designed like that to lessen the value of small bounces down a hill or in a hole. Bow is like sniper obviously.

Example: Jerome at the time had 38xp gained (if you look at the xp at the bottome right) He then used Seagull (da poopy one) and would've gotten 91xp, if he didn't hit himself If you check after the round he used Seagull, it would still be at 38xp gained so actually Jerome got zero xp even though it says +91xp. Sorry if I sound like a douchebag, just kinda felt like clearing this up I'm sorry again if I made you feel dumb
