I mean that ubi already clearly has systems built for 3rd person parkour, so, take a bit of that, really play into the tribal aspect where you can call in some blue fellas to help you out in a pinch and the tribe all use their knowledge of the forest and agility to outpace the humans, it would be a cool contrast where humans have tech, the aliens have their natural knowledge of the place. Maybe incorporate some immersive stuff where in the middle of thr forest at night you can set up your own camp up in the trees and gather back some stamina and stuff, I just really wanted to be super immersed in this foresty world bc it seems so cool to me...but that ain't gonna happen it looks like at least

Their goal wasn’t to give you a direct look at the game, it was to fly you out on a free trip to Vegas, so that when you got the game in your hands you would: 1) be in a great mood, 2) be grateful to be there, 3) feel obligated to them. Whether or not you think these factors actually had the desired effect or any effect, is of course your opinion, but the games industry was absolutely rife with these events in the past and it undermined the credibility of a lot of reviewers. The rise of KZbin reviewers was built on the premise that smaller independent channels have greater authenticity than the large blogs and magazines. So, we have : - a entire weather system that's immediately irrelevant due to flying mounts being able to ignore those mechanics - gathering mechanics with ressource tiers (maybe relevant in higher difficulties?) - a gigantic map with the classic Ubisoft formula with added dynamic events which is actually cool - dynamic sound cues which is cool - Bow&Arrow only combat Honestly, your video changed my opinion about this upcoming game and I might be willing to give it a shot. There's potential for a great game, though the combat leaves a lot to be desired imo. Only bow and arrows? Where are the bolas, the slings, the knives and blades, the axes, the spears or the staves from the first movie? Na'vi's whole shtick is their relationship with nature and preserving its balance, right? Why not have mounted combat, wether from our ground or flying mounts? Why not have dedicated pets that accompany us during our journey, with the more time you spend with your companions the stronger your bond and that being reflected in the gameplay? It feels weird to me that, as a Na'vi scout, you're able to just play through the whole story without really interacting with the nature your kind is supposed to protect and nurture except for...flying and maybe gathering stuff.

The issue with not interacting with the crafting system in the Witcher 3 was actually my specific issue. I couldn't get into the game because it just felt bland and simple. After getting into Soulsbourne games, I decided to try to up the difficulty and I've never had more fun in a game than the Witcher 3. The games are built around those systems, and not intereacting with them means you're not interacting with the game

For me, this sounds like a game that has a decent amount of detail put into it.....but ultimately, it's a Ubisoft game. Ubisoft hasn't made a game I've been excited for since Assassin's Creed 3. From 2012. I just don't like their open world formulas and their overall game design. I also don't really care about the Avatar franchise personally so that doesn't help it either. People hyping an avatar game sound like movie buffs who just discovered videogames. Listen kids, this game is made by Ubisoft, never buy an Ubisoft game on release, wait 6 months to assess it's quality by the discount it gets: - no discount, 5 to 10%? Excellent game. - 25%? It fumbled the ball a bit but it's still a decent value proposition. - 50%? It certainly failed to meet expectations. For reference that's how I knew to avoid Ghost Recon Wildlands, 6 months after release it was 50% off.

@filthyshoggoth okay. Firstly look at the quality of both cameras in bethesda games.... they're sub par, especially 3rd person its a novelty thats barely usable. I believe this game will look great and will probably have some pretty intriguing features. The world will also look incredible. Luke clearly shows that the devs are paying attention to the in-game details and how the player will interact with the world. However, every great game has a great story. I don't think anyone would make the mistake of saying Avatar movies have great stories. So, I'm inclined to believe the video game (which are already notorious for butchering motion picture adaptions) will have a story even less compelling than the ones we see in theaters. Maybe these guys will pull it off, but I can already see how this will devolve into a "go here, subdue enemies, retrieve quest item, repeat" playstyle, with no story to keep you coming back for more.
