Go for UST FMS❤️ I myself was an outsider like you..but good thing that the med student culture of ust fitted me well..classmates were nice and never did I felt being left behind tho most of my classmates (almost 90% i'd say) were from UST during their undergrad..thomasians are nice, fun to be with and very helpful..for better or for worst every subsec stick together, help each other pass and survive!! most professors were also considerate (and super high yield lalo na pag sinwerte kayo sa facis) i'm an incoming 3rd year na btw❤️

Hello po, ate Emma! Ask ko lang po regarding the requirements in UST med application, paano ipe-present yung “extracurricular activities”? Nakita ko po kasi sa website nila may ganun po on top of college grades and NMAT score. May CV po bang need i-pass or anong documents po ba need para ma-certify yung mga yun? Thanks po!

Hiii! From what I remember, there was a part of the application where you can write your extracurricular activities. No need for a separate CV or supporting documents :)

I'm not super sure about their criteria for applicants (especially outsiders). I also don't think you have to be cum laude to get in! A high NMAT score would really help because it will help you rank higher in their list. I guess bawi na rin sa extracurriculars and show na you also have a life outside academics and you can balance both :)

Me Wheel, well UST FMS is a top tier medschool and is usually ranked 1 or 2 when it comes to Local Pulse rankings for Philippine Medical Schools so I'm not really sure what you mean by "yikes no"

Funny you should say that, I'm actually from UST FMS as well. Personally, I like their highly structured and compartmentalized subjects. Not only are IM subspecialties taught in depth, but all Surgical specialties are also taught as separate subjects each with their own schedule. Anesthesiology is entirely separated from pharma and surg. Dermatology is taught as an entirely different entity from IM. Radiology is very extensive. And Medical Nutrition per organ system is covered separately from Biochem. Maybe it just comes down to your preference of learning. Other than that, though, I'm well aware of what you mean. 😂
