bot lane wasn't the only relevant role, relevancy is not just damage. Bot lane being relevant is one of the best ways to make the game actually a team game where you peel your carry and set them up properly to win fights. Better than making mid or top the main damage role. Just because other roles are not doing the top damage doesn't mean they aren't relevant though. I think making botlane or basically marksmen the most relevant in terms of damage is good because they are one of the only carry roles with defined weaknesses and team reliance. Other lane carries just don't lead to the game being a team game, and league imo is way more fun when there is teamwork and coordination not just every lane doing damage selfishly and splitpushing.

So basically you want a fed adc god stomping 5 enemies while your 4 teammates play support and cheer you on, sounds good man. Meanwhile jungle will continue to be the least played, most frustrating, teammate dependent role, Top will continue to sit in an abyss doing nearly nothing, and the mids will cancel each other out. You want a game with 4 supports and 1 carry. A Moba like that will not survive guaranteed.

@@Azdal except adc can't do anything without teammates. A fed Frontline landing disgusting engage is also skillful, why is damage the only way you think someone can contribute? Anyways stuff like ksante exists now to let you be flashy while still being Frontline for your adc. Better than a carry in every role doing nothing to work together.

The funniest thing is that Singed is still a very real threat to the enemy team. He pins them to their turrets by not playing the lane, and killing him does nothing because he's 0/2 and instead gives the map to Singed's team.

Same for Azzapp with Vel'koz. When the onetricks all drop a niche champ it's not just that the playrate goes down, but the winrate drops to the actual 40% level the non-onetricks get with it. You could actually see Riot August react to this live when the velkoz mains boycotted their champ and he was talking on stream about how buffing velkoz was tricky because he still had a good winrate, then he double checks it and realizes wait it's actually terrible now.

Genuine question as I don't play LoL frequently at all, but why is this super proxy tech viable exactly? Can't they just walk at you and kill you and doesn't it deny experience for your team to proxy other waves as well? It's very confusing to me on the reasoning of why it works.

it has to do with the way the bounty system interacts with the different sources of gold in the game. gold from turrets and farm is not "taxed" by the bounty system in the same way as gold from kills. there even becomes a point where the champion is worth less gold then the minion wave he is dieing for. now giving a kill for a wave when your opponent also gets a wave obviously not ideal. but if you can make them chase you into their base to kill you while a wave dies to their turret. Not only did you make more gold then them, you are absorbing resources from the enemy's in terms of the JG's time and any summoner spells used on you (a kill that is worth alot less then a shut down on your teammates). if you time your proxy with objective timers it can be exceptionally frustrating to play against because now that 150g kill costs you a dragon too yes double proxying the extra wave from mid 1000% fucks over your midlaner in terms of exp. but it buys them up to 1 minute of time where they can rotate around the map and the exp isn't lost because you already ate it

Regular proxy is really strong on any winning top laner, double proxy on the other hand isn't viable unless you are extremely ahead or the enemy sucks. You can actually see in the video how double proxy did nothing, since the enemy team was really good at reacting to it. Without the fed bot this game would have been a loss.

To be frank, riot usually has a great balancing team... compared to other multiplayer games and what the wider community thinks is balance. This one tho... he hates master yi, singed, trundle, (tryn is fine he builds crit) maybe gangplank, and support. Was swifties a bit overturned, yes, but they didnt fix it... they made it worse. Ranged champs and melee champs should have different speed stats on items just like they do on some on hit items. Dude loves teemo tho my lord do we have fun items
