I built the Trafalgar Square architecture set a few years ago as a birthday gift from my dad, and I also built just a few weeks ago the Lego Singapore skyline! Would definitely love more architecture sets though!

I've built quite a few of the Architecture series sets over the past few years. Notre Dame was my favorite Lego set build for 2024.

Repetitive builds are not my favourite, but if you take turns with someone else it might be a little less tedious.

Great analysis. I love the look of this. I'm more into playset/storytelling than display, but scale-clash aside, I'd happily put this on the mantelpiece, maybe with some tourist figs (e.g. SightSeeing Bus) or a couple plucking up the courage to propose to each other at the same time (just do it, nathan and jane. we're all sick of waiting). But while I don't want to put anyone off....is this likely to suffer from yellowing? Because that would be my fear. (there is no nathan and jane)

Those are solid ideas to mix this up with some figs! I’m actually not sure if current day white pieces suffer from yellowing. I know they did in the 80’s and 90’s! But if they do, this set is like 90% white pieces, so something to keep in mind 🙂

I’ve built the Statue of Liberty and I was lucky enough to acquire the 2014 version of the Trevi Fountain. And I can’t wait to receive this new version! I’ll be putting this new fountain right next to my old one 🥰 The new Trevi Fountain is extremely beautiful! 😍

When i was in the Army in Germany, i drove to Rome to visit my English cousin who was the labour attache from Great Britain to Rome. I went to visit the Trevi fountain and found a small Italian restaurant across the street and went in and ordered spaghetti. I was chatting with my waiter who was very efficient and knowledgeable about the fountain. I eventually got out of the Army and about six years later, i headed back to Rome and the Trevi Fountain. I recognized the restaurant and decided to get lunch there again. I ordered spaghetti again and after the waiter brought my meal, he asked me if I had been in the U.S. Army!! I said I had been and he then reminded me about my cousin and even that I had told him I was from California! I queried hi how he could possibly remember one person and details out of the thousands of customers he had over the years?? He told me that the majority of American travelers were somewhat rude and had a "better than thou" attitude and he remembered me because of how polite and down to earth I was! Of course I was extremely flattered and shocked to be remembered after all of that time with no prodding from me! He even reached into his pocket and gave me a coin to throw into the fountain as he had done so many years before, which did insure my return to the fountain, at least once!! Great memories indeed!!.,

I own the old one actually. The new one looks good but the flesh colour is very offputting for me. Since they don't really have an off-white that mimics the travertine stone of the original, I would have gone full white. Shapewise it looks great though, I'm only a bit annoyed that they used the leaf pieces for the corinithian capitels. I think they look a bit too simple. A bit more exploration there would have gone a long way. Great to see you doing reviews!

@@BrickedtoPerfection Agreed. I might seem a little elitist here, but the use of the colour makes it seem just a bit cartoonish to me. More Friends than Architecture so to speak. Loved the review. A little thing I missed is specific terminology. For instance, when talking about architecture maybe use words like capital, frieze, cornice... to refer to specific parts of the building! Although they way you do it is definitely more accessible to a broader audience. Anyway, loved it and glad you seem to be doing well too!

I have all the Architecture sets. I guess you could call me a completest. To be honest, with all the Landmarks and beautiful buildings still to be done - I have no idea why Lego thought redoing a past set was even necessary. I find this set completely unneeded.

@DinoDude101 when I had to find one on eBay - I only looked at the ones where the Seller had Make an Offer. I always make reasonable offers and almost every time - the Seller accepts it.
