You’re 100% right on needing an Angie’s list for customers we’ve got a guy right now that messed up building himself a race car and brought it in at 5 o’clock on a Friday for an alignment and now it’s taking us to small claims court because we couldn’t put it to factory specifications yeah go figure that one! Lol

I work for an employee owned company. We bent over backwards last Summer to help a young man get HVAC equipment for "side jobs" giving him pretty deep discounts along the way. All of a sudden he stops coming in. Then we find out his last check bounced! It wasn't a small amount, either. After multiple phone calls and empty promises, he ghosts us. Facebook shows him putting the final touches on a new dirt track car for this season. Guess it fits. Dirtbag has a dirt track car.

Eric, I am sorry you had to go through this. I am going through a similar situation right now. Be thankful you have the heads. I have two custom engines. That I am going to have to sell. Ever since the plandemic started and the parts delays. I spend 30% time on ordering and tracking parts. People's manors and all sense of acting properly are out the door. Not good times we live in. Very frustrating to say the least. Fortunately most of our Customers are awesome and great people. So I still have faith and hope things will get better. Take care, Ed.

After remotely (me out of country) working with an aircraft engine builder for years I finally met him in person and had various discussions about our industry. He made the comment "I increased my profitability this year without increasing production; actually by decreasing production." I asked, how did this come about? He answered, "by getting rid of my shitty customers." The pareto effect: 20% of his customers were the cause of 80% of his profitability problems.

Things escalated when they wouldnt answer me for weeks. The ironic part is i went out of my way to spend money with them, MORE money than i couldve got the shit for elsewhere. Got some of my parts, ended up just getting the rest elsewhere, dont think i ever got my timing set. They are part number PCE281-1744 Well unless you got a video looking into them and showing everyone. The thing looks really wierd. Says they have 190cc runners and a 64cc chamber. This is on summit. 232dollars bare looks like. Got big square exhaust ports and both intake patterns believed to be standard runner. Thinking if there is a way to fix these things or what. really excited about the ProMaXX project X 215cc heads! Also the brodix 210, 221 and 227cc. 😆 found your pro comp 'vortec' video THANKS! big help. Also cannot wait for book 2 to come out.

That is where the mill cuts across the seat. It leaves a scuff. This only happens when heads are milled and hit the seat. To this day I have yet to have them not seal. However AFR has a lifetime warranty on the heads so if it ever was a problem they would take care of it.

I got the package back from usps automatically as shown in the tracking. she know what was going on the whole time but refused to take responsibility for her mistake,. I see this particular situation alot. The problem is; the more chargebacks i get in the trailing 12 months the more the fee's are on each chargeback,. They need to start charging these cusotmers when they file these neglegent and ignorant chargebacks when the vendor wins or proves fault . IM SICK OF THIS!

There should be a ups rep for your area. You should call him or her and talk to them about pricing. Ups will always beat fed ex pricing. I ship multiple products a day. I could ship a product that cost that much and goes in that size box thru ups, and insure it for half that shipping cost. Ups is usually really good about working with you on price if you ship regularly.

On more than one occasion I've had to go and Sawzall equipment off of "customers" houses. Absolutely hated doing that and luckily it was only a handful of times but sometimes it just has to happen. You try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I'm not letting someone take me for a 20k+ ride. And just to add, I willingly am waiting 6+ months for a step nose custom grind SBC step nose cam because those are on backorder apparently too.

Charge Backs Uggggg... one of our biggest customers ( with multiple locations across the country ) had sent a Debit Memo to our company but they were suppossed to send back the product to us for a credit and it wasnt recieved. We ended up putting the entire company on Credit Hold so nothing shipped to any of their locations until it got resolved. Surprisingly, it still took 3-4 days. Being that your a one man show, this has to be incredibly stressfull. thank God you were atleast able to get those heads turned around. You really got lucky. People suck simetimes

Why not require a monetary deposit for anything out of the ordinary? The customer has to ultimately pay for everything and if they want your product, get some up front money. I doubt it will affect the profits and it will give you a little more room to breathe. I have been in business a couple times and dealing with the public can be a nightmare and it only takes one person to give you a permanent attitude. This customer you described is nothing but a fraud. He probably changed his mind due to money and new fickle desires. Another way out is to require the customer to get the castings and then he can ship them to you for work. I don't know if AFR would sell them to joe blow but I would imagine they would. Money talks.
