Loved this video! I just want to say my mom and I visited Disneyland the past two days ago and thanks to your tips and your advice we had such a great time!! I was so excited I literally binged watched almost all your videos and you and your family are so adorable! My mom and I followed your rope drop strategy, tips to use LL and so much more. I was there on Tuesday too! But I had a reservation to DCA so had to join the 12pm queue. I think joining the noon queue puts you into the backup groups. I was in backup group 19. Got called around 6:10pm and then the ride went down while we were in line. They gave us lightning lane to come back but they don’t send you a notification when the ride is back up so I just kept checking the app until I saw they were calling groups again. Ride was back up at 8pm so we went back over and got in the lightning lane and got on a little after 8:30pm. So highly suggest to grab a Disneyland reservation and joining the 7am queue if you can.

I was there that day as well. I scored the noon VQ. My group was 10. You're lucky because you had the sun dry you off. Because there were 2 breakdowns, I didnt get on until after 8. I sat in the back & I got soaked as well. 😂

We were there same day as you and at noon was able to get on the virtual queues for both Tiana’s and Haunted Mansion. Tiana group was a back up one, so never got on it.

While it's great that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is finally opening as Critter Country is really empty without it, I can't help feeling sad about the loss of Splash Mountain. I remember when the ride opened in 1989 -- it was a huge deal with TV ads everywhere. I loved the animal characters from "Song of the South" and there is no better ride song than "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah." Another plus was the reuse of the animatronics from the former "America Sings" attraction in Tomorrowland, which was one of my favorite rides/shows as a child. I'm sure that the current generation will love the new theming, but for those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s, it is a loss.

If you skip the ride portion, everything else is spoiler free. Even when I'm sharing my thoughts it's just in general like "I loved it!" Instead of sharing details. The chapters in the video make it clear where the ride POV is, and there's also a note on screen while watching that tells you where to skip ahead to.

I would love to ride this to see all the animatronics but I really can't stand getting wet. Even with a poncho on I feel you would still get wet and I can't justify taking a poncho, flip flops etc and lugging those around just to experience one ride. We are there in a few weeks so also have to take into consideration it will be cooler so definitely don't want to be wet.

Great video, Traver! I’ve seen other streamers get as soaked as you from sitting in the front row. I’m pretty sure the Cast members were advised to place “you” in the front row for maximum experience. I, myself will request to sit in the back. The ride should be very enjoyable, not miserable.😅

Hah! Always possible, but I was the first person in a new ride vehicle, and they sat everyone after me 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in order. But I’m glad I had the front row for videoing purposes. If I hadn’t had the front row I would have asked for the back so my camera didn’t get in anyone’s view. But in the front I was able to be a bit louder, not speaking into anyone’s ear. Not that my bunch would have cared. They were all quite loud and excitable too. 🤣

Aloha from Hawaii, Thank you for reviews and blog, really love them. I'm a little disappointed in the whole story line. I think it could have been more entertaining and livelier. There was that blank spot after the big drop. I also think it could have been downgraded for the smaller fans. I had hoped that they would make the bigger drops gentler. But I guess every park has to have a water ride that drenches you. I hate those things.

Apparently this is normal for new/refurbished Disneyland rides where only cast members and key holders can ride a newly refreshed ride. News to me. Way back when Disney reopened the submarine ride, Disney surprisingly opened it and let anyone who wanted to ride go on the ride. I’m not sure that I find it fair that only a select group can get on the ride at this time. I’m not anywhere near Disneyland, but I still think that others who are there, paid full price for the day, should have the chance to ride Tiana’s ride just like everyone else. Disney should be ashamed of themselves for excluding some people.

The ride has been having technical issues during the preview. The cast members operating the preview said that previews are designed to allow them to test the attraction under normal operating circumstances, something they don’t achieve with the minimal and infrequent use when imagineers are testing (ie it’s not a constant stream of ride vehicles for hours on end). They use Magic Key holders to do this testing because if it breaks, they’ll be back. No biggy. Imagine if it’s someone’s once in a lifetime visit and they get stuck on the ride for an hour and have to be evacuated, wasting their precious time for a ride they know is likely going to be buggy. The public release was formally announced as November 15th months ago.

@@SoCalDisneyDad so how does that make it right to exclude a group of Disneyland visitors? It should be open to anyone who can get lucky enough to grab a spot on their phone. Alienating people from the ride does not make the people who save up all year to come to the park for their vacation want to come back next year. This might be the only chance that they will get to ride Tiana until they (maybe) comeback next year on their vacation. Furthermore, if the ride is unsafe, then no one should be riding Tiana.

I just think that it’s bad public relations to exclude people. Leaves a really bad taste in the mouth. As far as occasional park visitors getting stuck on a ride for a long period of time due to breaking down, that is a possibility on any Disneyland ride. Glad you enjoyed the ride though.
