I have heard this lesson from different preachers but I knew you would present a creative edge to it....the way you explained her act of living her water jar behind. The jar was central to her argument when she said 'Sir, you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep' but after encountering the master she left it behind and admitted to her need for salvation:' Come see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah'. You also alluded to the fact that its not always about what we are used to or what we see, 'The prison of the mind' were your exact words. You know, it's funny..all of these great pastors that wait to hear God tell them where they should start a church and all of them pick where there's a church on every corner. I live in one of the highest unchurched states of the nation..where there are churches, they are old school, dress up and earn your way into heaven ideologies, and the others, that HAVE adapted to the evidence based Christianity movement that has recently started, are few and far between. According to Barna research, 53% of residents in Massachusetts are unchurched and of those that do go, 42% haven't gone in the last six months.. When you look at all the mega churches..aside from Hillsongs..most of them reside where it's easy to obtain followers.. I spread my faith consistently, but the nearest church that I can invite friends to, where they won't feel condemned and judged in the first 5 min is about 45 min away. We need churches!!!
