Turmoil makes its way into the Roaring Twenties with a completely new campaign, lots of newfangled mechanics, upgrades, new playable characters and NPC’s, and all-new areas and levels! But rest assured: it all comes with the trusted Turmoil gameplay you've come to know from previous campaigns.
So get ready to deepen your Turmoil experience, here’s what you can expect:
-An all-new town with new buildings, a new mayor, and balloon trips to special deep-drilling grounds!
-Besides oil, you can now also find water underground - which comes in handy when you want to drill faster and cheaper! But it's also essential for the production of the highly valuable petrol!
-Petrol marks the start of a new era. You can’t just dig it up and sell it right away, you first have to produce it in refineries. It’s a challenging but rewarding undertaking, and we trust there will be no complaints about the revenues it generates!
-A brand new expedition: Every few in-game years, regular drilling levels are alternated with special research missions. Here, it's all about trying to drill as deep as possible with limited resources. Can you drill deeper than your opponents?
-Two new playable characters to choose from: meet Thorpe and Mabel! Both willing and able!
-To get your drilling operation up and running as quickly as possible, meet Yvonne, Sanjay, and Dynamite Dale who will introduce you to their new wares! And of course your old friends Edward, Raynor, Fred, and William will stop by with their train to provide you with all the drilling equipment you need.
-Philip is also back, and he's got a new game for you: Dice Dice Dice. If you can outsmart him, you're sure to make a few extra bucks on the side.
-Just like previous campaigns, it's all about who has the most town shares in the end. Deeper Underground uses the same bidding system as in the multiplayer campaign, but shares can also be earned in the deep-drilling missions.
-And last but not least: we've added an explosive item to the game, dynamite! While hard rock can be nice when it comes out of speakers, it's a big problem when you stumble upon it underground. Normal drills are not strong enough, so make sure to visit Dynamite Dale in the Saloon!

Yay great to see a Deeper Underground BETA play session 🥳 Looks fun! My play testing from the heat is on suggests that there wasn't any benefit (speeding up) of oil extraction when connecting into multiple pockets. Even if you had a Level 3 Pipe > Into a Level 2 Pipe > into a Level 1 pipe (assuming it's a single line). They seem to empty at a set rate based on the pipe level however there was a visual indication that oil was being extracted which I believe was a red herring & only intended to let us (the player) know we have hit the oil. The change of visuals in deeper underground might be addressing this?! Of course it's possible that they also changed some of the mechanics so further testing would be required!

​@@NibbsGaming Ahh sorry you had a bad nights sleep The playtest visuals of Deeper Underground seem to be more accurate compared to the visuals of the base game & the heat is on DLC. I'll try & use emojis with line art as a visual to explain my point. Hopefully it works! 🙈 👇Base Game & or Heat is on DLC 👇 -🌋 - Rig I⬛I I⬛I < Level 3 Pipe with solid oil flow I⬛I (🕳) < 1st Pocket of Oil I◾I I◾I < Level 1 or 2 Pipe - This pipe will show oil moving upwards & tend to have air gaps suggesting a suboptimal flow I◾I (🕳) < 2nd Pocket of Oil The 2nd pocket of oil flowing upwards would suggest that you are extracting this oil. However when I compared the time it took (days in game) to extract both pockets fully there was little to no difference. Any difference (A day earlier/later) I could attribute to variance as I had to test each extraction setup using the same seed map (single game) multiple times. Therefore the visuals of the oil moving from the 2nd pocket gave us the false impression that we were extracting the oil faster. In Deeper Underground you show @4:00 the new visuals & in my experience this is how the game has always worked under the hood. The visuals have been updated to now represent this 👍 annnnnnd breathe 😅

I believe Nibbs is going to try and get a video out as soon as he can get his hands on the full release, which is the 12th, and he'll start a new series. And no there are no fines for spilling water.👍

TinTan in spot on. I'm waiting for the full release of the game to do a full playthrough. It comes out on the 12th and I will be aiming to get the first video out on the same day. No fines for spilling water but it does mean you can't define as much petrol if you waste too much. Hope to see you in the comments on the 12th!

how do you know if the oil is high or low

They find them in order. So the ones at the top get found first. Also you can guess how far down they are by how long they take to find it. When you play it a lot it kind of just makes sense without thinking too much. Do you play Turmoil? Are you going to get the DLC?
