The difficulty with this scenario is that Wembley Central has a unique arrangement, where access to the main line platforms are restricted, and you can only access the platforms when there is a train arriving in, only to catch that train. If you stick around after that train has left, they will get annoyed about it. It is a shame that they have this arrangement now, as Wembley Central is one of the best places to see a 37 due to the bridge above creating an enclosed space where it passes.

You're supposed to notify station staff if you go to a station to photograph trains, NOT 'ask permission' as it's not that Sir Topham Hatt's property, it's Network Rail's & they give permission in their rules for photography at stations. If you're there to get off one train & onto another, as you were Francis and happen to hold your camera while there, you don't need to tell anyone, otherwise anyone carrying a camera would have to tell staff every time they wanted to change trains. I might try to find that chap the next time I'm at Wembley Central & ask his permission to change trains, especially as I own a camera. Maybe his managers will have educated him by then?
