You look lovely in that jacket. The only thing I'd recommend is trying out a cooler hair color and a darker color around your face for the deep winter result. I've learned that your skin tone can be warm but wearing warm colors can make your skin look muddy while cool tones can even out your features.

Hi. I think you're more of a deep winter. Deep winters look good in black, as do you, as seen from this vid. Some autumns can't wear black - it washes them out. As a DW, your sister season is Deep Autumn, so you can use some of the colors from that palette too. I suggest that you watch Cocoa Styling. She has many vids re: color analysis for POCs. Cheers!

Deep winter makes way more sense for you. True/warm autumn would mean you are very warm and it's your primary feature, and you already said that you don't look good in very warm colours. But deep winter can borrow from deep autumn, so I can see the confusion.

@@Mahoganiediane Yes, and as a deep winter you can borrow from deep autumn. Not the warmest colour, but as long as the depth is there otherwise, you can go for it for sure. You should also be able to wear silber and gold, something that is not that easy if warm or cool is your dominant feature

Apps often put poc women as dark/deep winter or autumn. But poc can be any season/sub-season.

I got analyzed and got two different results also. I have light to medium olive skin and one place told me I was a Deep Autumn and the other told me I was Deep Winter. The people who analyzed me as Deep Autumn actually could discern what my features were (some people think I'm high contrast, but despite having dark features, I'm low contrast). Deep Autumn looks great on me and I'm so happy I got a second opinion because Deep Winter made me look drained. The correct analysis came from a more established place that was a little more expensive. I got the basic package from both places.

@@Mahoganiediane online. The first one I got was from an Etsy shop and it was cheaper, but not as established a business yet. The second one I got was from a business that does in person and online analysis and I watched their method and some analysis videos they did before deciding on them. They were a bit pricier. That's not to say someone with less experience can't be amazing at this also, but in my case, since my first results didn't work on me, I was really careful going with people I trusted could accurately type me online because I didn't want to end up with a second result I couldn't use.

I don’t think you are a deep winter. But you also are not muted like an Autumn. At the same time you’re hair highlights are very very warm and you pull them off really well. It’s not common for deep winter to rock those golden highlights the way you do. You also don’t have high enough contrast for deep winter. You could be one of the in between seasons bordering autumn or spring.

I’ve thought the same about the hair warmth. This experience had left me very confused lol. I might fall in the middle but I do feel comfortable with deep winter. Hopefully I can get an in person analysis soon

I will note the warmth in your makeup helps the highlights look more harmonious. Plus there are lots of people with cool skin and brown black hair or warm undertones with ashy Black hair. In my experience, it can be an indicator that you aren’t one of the “True” seasons. But draping or trying out colors are always best to really know.

I absolutely agree with the deep winter color analysis. Deep winters are neutral cool and deep. This is the second time I saw someone who got an analysis under $70 was completely wrong. True Autumns are warm and muted. That analysis made no sense just based off your statement about foundations alone. I noticed that a lot of people have problems doing color analysis on more melanated people. Back in the 80s & 90s they would straight up say every dark person was a Winter and it’s impossible for us to be warm toned. It’s hilarious when you consider that POC have wayyyy more variety in skin tones than people of only European descent. I thought I was a deep Autumn bc now almost all Black people are told they are an Autumn or Winter. After doing some hardcore research and trying on tons of color, I found out I’m a Bright Spring like Tessa Thompson, Solange Knowles, Kerry Washington, & Jennifer Hudson. My mom is even a Light Spring bc she is bright but her hair color faded from red to light brown. My big advice is try on colors from palettes you think you are, take pics in the outfits, and think how those colors make you feel wearing them. Also, if people say you look good or healthy or glow, it’s a good color. If people point out the color too much, it’s likely too bright for you and distracts.

I definitely noticed darker skin tones get analyzed incorrectly! I agree the key is to just try colors and see for yourself. I noticed earth tones washed me out in pics
