Stay away from anything with paint on it, chunks of concrete, metal that can corrode, pressure-treated wood, plastic, styrofoam, and construction garbage to name a few. Personally, I would use things like branches/mulch, leaves, grass clippings, hay, and unaltered rocks (as found in nature). Just don't use plant matter from weeds, or you could have lots of weeds growing in your beds. If you are using branches or leaves, make sure they came from plants and trees that were not diseased or infested with insects.

Theyre baby stink bugs! They do eat fruits like tomatos, but not in the way that youd think. They poke a hole in the fruit and suck some juice out! They can be a problem, but tend not to be. Especially in big gardens with lots of excess or ugly fruits that wouldnt have been eaten otherwise :) In short: they can be a little annoying sometimes but arent necessarily harmful to a garden

Homegrown heirlooms might be different, if you haven't tried already! I had horrible reflux for 20 years and didn't think I could eat tomatoes raw when I started growing them. The really sweet ones (labelled low acid, but acidity is very similar between all types) I can eat without issue! Even many of the regular ones too. The hybrids I've tried give me a sore throat though, which is what most grocery stores sell.
