my father grew up without his dad, as he was a cheater and abandoned his family. so I grew up without my grandfather. right now the world is so ugly, I'm afraid of losing a loved one due to war in europe and I'm stressed over exams, but you remind me that the world isn't horrible all the time. thank you for doing what you do.

My cold heart just melted ❤ I love history and wish my grandfather had lived long enough to tell me stories from his own childhood. My grandfather was a farmer who had to bring his family to safety from Karelia when the Soviet Union invaded Finland. I have never been able to visit my grandfather's home because the Soviet Union stole that part of Karelia. I enjoy these videos so much but it's also sad because everytime I listen to you I think about the things I've lost.

I absolutely love this so much! Love you grandpa. I feel 12 years old again watching this video. Reminds me of the days at grandma and grandpa’s house listening to their many stories. I miss them and those days so much. They have been gone since I was a senior in high school. They passed within 6 months of each other except for my one grandpa who passed before I was born. I was 15 when my dad died and my mom passed almost 2 years ago. I just turned 40 and I really love your videos. You are so much like my own grandpa. One treasure I have from him is his WWII helmet and gas mask. He was a runner in the war but thankfully didn’t have to go to combat.

I loved hearing about how shoes were laced back then. I was born in the 80s, and I find it funny that things we used in the 90s (VCRs, phones that had cords attached to the receiver, dial up internet) are no longer around today. I'm sorry you lost your Dad so young. I lost mine nearly a decade ago and it still hurts like hell. I'm glad you have such good memories of him. Your mother was very pretty, and the button hook and shoe horn are really neat. Don't get me started on aeroplanes. Spitfires and Hurricanes are the best! I love Sopwith Camels, though, too. My little cat (the one I use for an icon) is Montgomery, but we call him Spitfire because he's got a real Merlin engine. You should hear him purr! Have you seen those cars the boys suped up after WWI? They used to put aeroplane engines into cars and race them. That's something! Thank you for spending this time with us. I dropped my Coke Zero but it's safe to open it now, so I'll raise it to Dads and good memories. I love you too, Grandpa.
