Éireann, you need another Go Fund Me. You cannot go through this and also have the money worries that you inevitably have with job insecurity, getting back to Ireland from Canada, Devin's visa, which I recall you saying was very expensive and who knows what other expenses. It's a tribute to the amazing, decent person you are that you feel that you can't take any more donations. Yes you can - for the simple reason that many of us are very happy to offer you some financial support in your hour of need. And yes, it is our way of giving you an online hug when we would so like to give you a hug in person. I'm so moved by your latest video and so worried about you but if anyone can be on the right side of all these statistics and averages then it's you. I'll keep praying for you and thinking of you. We're all here for you. Take care, Rob xx (and daughter Soph! xx)

In a perfect world it would not be this way, but we don’t live in a perfect world. The people that care the most about you are yourself and hopefully any friends and family you might have. Doctors are great people for dedicating their life to helping others but at the end of the day they are just people and they make mistakes. What I am trying to say is don’t you ever feel bad about being insistent or demanding or whatever. You are worth more than someone being annoyed by a phone call.

I can't imagine how frustrating and stressful it is to keep calling people who are supposed to help you, having them promise you a call back and then ignore you. Your life is at stake, that is absolutely unacceptable! I'm livid. I can't imagine ever putting another person in a situation like that. If I'm promising someone a call back then I do call back, even if just to tell I'm not able to help. Keeping someone waiting like that is inhumane. How could your consultant just disappear without adequate backup in place, it's just shambolic and as for Devon's boss firing him under these circumstances they should truly hang their head in shame. I also don't think you should feel guilty about the Go Fund Me, you have a lot of support here, you are not someone begging for money because you blew it all on a fancy car or something. Let people help and support you because there is absolutely no guilt here ❤ sending you all the love and hugs.

I hope that with the life that you have left that it's the best damn life you can have. It's just not fair and I'm so sorry. I just learned of the passing of a friend from cancer, and I am devistated, and this just makes me so angry. She didn't deserve that, and you don't deserve this. I wish you much peace. May you be able to still find the joy in the sunrises and sunsets, and may you feel the love that we all have for you, and may you be able to breath calming breaths and may you know peace.

As a father of two young girls, in the previous video, hearing you talk about your dad wanting to be there for you had me tearing up instantly. I can't imagine what it would have to be like. Doing all that is in your power and still feel helpless. Please tell your dad that he is hero no matter what. The hero every other dad aspires to be. And please know that you are forever his treasure. I would also like to thank you for sharing your story. And wish you all the time future can give you. I hope alongside all the tears this illness brings upon you, you can find also the joy that fills a heart with the warmth of a thousand loving fathers. (and mothers to of course ;-) Keep up the fight. (and the video's 😊)

I have been folllowing your story and you are a peach of a soul! One of my best friends has been fighting a brain tumor for 21 years! Your optimism and magnetic energy is soooo inspiring! I have a best friend who has been fighting a brain tumor for 21 years. She had a recurrence on 2014 and now the trial she has been on is in demand so she has to go without it for at least a week, so, so scary!! She never tells people her situation, ( I see it how she does, not want pity) she inspires me everyday, and you. If people WANT TO DONATE, Don’t take that from us, we want to help. This is a viable way for you to enjoy your life without the added financial worries. Just to be able to do your bucket list perhaps? God Bless You Keep fighting, stay strong Sending healing hugs❤❤

Wow Devon's boss was some piece of work. Speaking from his side of this, if what you're going through ever happened to my wife I don't know how I could concentrate on work period. For him to fire the poor guy because he wanted/needed to be with you for something so major shows some people really are awful. How someone like that could look at themselves in the mirror is beyond comprehension. On to you, I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this and I am keeping you in my thoughts. There are always new drugs/trials on the horizon. Never lose hope that one of those will be the "magic wand" for you. Be well!

You have been thru it! I left you a comment before. My late husband had brain cancer. He had so many issues with the seizure meds. He had to change them about 4 times until we found one that was therapeutic & didn’t have bad side effects. Please don’t let them make you feel you’re stuck with one that doesn’t work for you. I pretty much had to go to battle with some of his doctors to get them to listen. And yes, you have to slowly wean off one drug while building up the dose of the new drug. You can’t change them cold turkey. The Dr (she was a saint!) that finally helped my husband was an Epileptologist. All the other Dr’s (GP, neurosurgeon, etc) would not try him on different drugs. It was very frustrating! I wish you all the best! ❤️

To have that experience with the surgeon and staff is unforgivable. I HIGHLY recommend that you consider calling the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ to discuss with them and to have a 2nd opinion provided. I would go so far as to say anyone who would disrespect your time and disregard the stress caused by not meeting his obligation, should not be trusted. I don’t care where they sent the tumor. I know for a fact that you will be treated appropriately and you will be given accurate information with Mayo. I know you have a lot going on with a move impending and all the rest of it. But this is your life. NOW is the time to be sure. NOW is the time to consult the best people. Don’t wait. Nothing is more important than you living a long, healthy life.

Hey Eirann, first time posting a comment on youtube. I found out last year that I also had a grade II glioma astrocytoma in the right temporal lobe, I had just become a mother from my little Aurora. The prognosis of 10 to 15 year olds destroyed me morally, it is not understandable to hear about the end of my life when one has just given birth but it is not more acceptable when one has begun it like you. But I tell myself that we are one of the lucky ones, we are young you are even younger, medicine is evolving there is a drug that will soon be released: vorasidenib which gives good results in low grade gliomas mutant for IDH . My husband who is a mathematician tells me that I do not fit into the statistics, firstly because of my age + the fact that I was able to have an awake surgery allowing a supramarginal removal and in my case the discovery was fortuitous. All this to say that the statistics today are based on people who had diagostics much later than you, we must keep hope. I got a tattoo after the surgery “Outlier” on my right arm above the vaines to remind me during each MRI which is always so distressing. I sincerely believe that we are not in the statistics because they are based on data before MRIs were done so often and before tumors were treated with surgery and before new drugs. I pray every evening to be with my daughter and every evening I pray that every mother can also be there for their children, I also pray for you and your family and evryone with this.

Seeing you face this adversity is inspiring, and I hope that you keep making your videos. I don't want to be insensitive, but I'm a biochemist by training and wanted to add something of a technical nature. V600E indicates that the valine (V) residue located at position 600 in the BRAF protein has mutated to glutamate (E). The glutamate mimics phosphorylation of BRAF's activation site, which means that the cell can't turn the BRAF off after it has been made. The DNA triplets for valine are G-T-(G/A/T/C), while the DNA triplets for glutamate are G-A-(G/A). So your BRAF mutation was the result of a thymine-to-adenine substitution in your DNA. This seems like it would be a dominant mutation, so your other copy of BRAF is probably just fine. I never studied cancer, but it seems like they could try selectively silencing the bad copy (like through RNA interference), while letting the good copy express normally. If that were possible, it would probably solve your problem.

It is remarkable how well you've handled this and how informative your recent video is. I think many others will find it helpful. Regarding your prescriptions: Any time you are concerned about not having enough, is not working or is causing a problem, call the pharmacy and ask to speak to a pharmacist regarding your Rx (ideally before you run out). The licensed pharmacist is mandated to keep on top of any problem related to the Rx that was dispensed to you. They can call the prescriber to ask for a renewal, a change in dose, a drug interaction or even suggest a substitute. Sometimes they will require that you return to the prescriber, but sometimes they can communicate directly and the prescriber a phone renewal because they know it is not necessary or possible to see the patient again.

It is exhausting having to advocate and fight but that is what you have to do. I have stood in your shoes with my dad, what I would say is with the treatment you have had I would check out elsewhere. We didn’t and we endured the worst, I am offering you our hindsight. Get out and get out quick. Ask your dad and family to reach out to all neurology consultants across the world who have experience in your tumour and see what they can share, know and examples of care, treatment and success. Trials is a key. The Royal Marsden in the UK could be useful to reach out to Liam Christopher Welsh. But if in your shoes I would be changing my care ❤
