Mads, Laowa lenses lack gaskets. Wrap a strip of gaffer tape around the lens mount. I do this with my 15mm f2 Zero-D when at Jokulsarlon and in any moist climate. Long ago I permanently ruined the electronics in a camera body using a lens lacking a gasket while out in a light drizzle in the Chilean fjords. You still risk moisture infiltration of the unsealed Laowa lens, but you won't lose use of the camera for the rest of your trip. I store gaffer tape wrapped on a leg of each of my tripods. All the best and keep your wonderful videos flowing.

Amazing images Mads - your compositions are key for this ultra wide FL. I've had this lens since release, using it mainly for architecture. You've inspired me to try it with landscapes, although we don't have epic landscape subjects around me here.

Great selection of images Mads, really loved the ones from the Ice Beach, some real jaw droppers amongst them for sure. The timing of your video is also perfect as I am attending Greg's Hamburg workshop in February and giving serious thought as to what gear to take. I have the Canon 14-35mm (bought that after you discussed it a while back🙂) and until I saw this week's video, I was considering the Canon 10-20mm as the option of going wider than 14mm is appealing to me, especially for internal compositions such as staircases. Like the fact you can use filters with it too as the 10-20mm doesn't offer that option at the moment apart from gel filters. Will definitely now give this serious consideration and will look into the reviews, given your initial findings on its performance.

Hello Mads. Congratulations on these spectacular photos of the ice beach. The photos really are incredible!!!! I would like to know how you do it so that the beach photos do not turn out blurry when you are shooting at speeds of almost 1 second. Thanks again for sharing these wonderful photos with us. A hug.😉🙌📷

Stunning photos. It's so crazy how close you have be with this 10mm. I was in Estonia, Narva-Joesuu, to photograph the lighthouse there with this Laowa lens. Okay, I did use Zfc so it wasn't really 10mm but still amazing. I was too far away. I treated my lens as it were a zoom lens. Mistake was made. What a waste of opportunity. But, I learned my lesson and cropped the photo in cinemascope aspect ratio and got somewhat acceptable results. Great lens, just be careful with positioning.
@hjones4514 сағат бұрын
Not much opportunity to photograph ice caves in the UK, so I'll find other uses for my widest 20mm lens. The Laowa products are very good - the manual 65mm macro is one of my most used. Thanks for taking us on another of your adventures. My flight booked to Iceland was cancelled and refunded sadly. 'Beaut -i- fulllll images, as you pronounce it, as always.

Consider the 7Artisans 9mm/5.6 lens as well. Smaller, lighter, wider, sharper, better sunstar. No front thread though, that's the only downside. Besides manual focus, of course. :)
@tubularificationed4 сағат бұрын
To add, it is a no-electronics lens, doesn't have electronic contacts, so that there is no Exif data transfer to facilitate automatic lens profile corrections. But it is considerably cheaper, about half the price, which is very tempting 🙂

I have the 8mm 3.5 Samyang Manuel focus lense I have found manuel focus not a problem with such a wide lens . I have been able to photograph scenes that would be impossible without such a wide lens

According to the test I've seen, peak sharpness for this lens is achieved at f/8. It's a very fun lens!
@MadsPeterIversen6 сағат бұрын
I think you'll be hard pressed to see any difference between f/8 and f/11, so I rarely overthink it. It generally made a much bigger impact to make a highpass filter in Photoshop :)
