@@Infidi well borders has existed for a very very long time, but how borders are operated and stuff like that has changed through out the time. The current system we have is from treaty of westphalia 1648.

Borders, as we understand them, did not really develop until the 17th century or so. While it was generally understood that certain powers controlled certain land, individuals did not really conceive of the world that they lived in as one of nation-states with set borders that need to be enforced until later in the early-modern period.

The burgundian inheritance event partially works based on who burgundy is married to, but the event triggers immediately after a ruler dying for them, meaning of they sent the offer, you're less likely to get the PU in them for free.

Honestly with the amount of expansion you've done, the mission for IA that you took, the basically secure empire... At this point just use your mission to expand and get hereditary succession which means you can just be whatever religion you want.

If you want to dismantle the HRE while still being the emperor, you can wait till the revolution and flip. It automatically dismantles the HRE. I had this happen to me while playing France, I let the revolution disaster trigger and went down the revolution route. But yeah, not really worth waiting till the endgame (almost).

My most recent playthrough was the luckiest I ever got. I married Castille as england, I got the PU on France when they wanted Maine back. At the same time Castille got the PU on portugal rather than Aragon. Then I got the PU on Castille... All the colonial powers under my thumb in 25 years.

Disinheriting albrecht achilles isn't exactly the best move, albeit for one weird reason See, he's actually the prince of Ansbach, and so if you die and he becomes ruler of brandenburg, you get Ansbach as a PU. Although... it's just Ansbach so it doesn't matter that much.
