Two things, 1. break in oil is meant to flush out any leftover metal shavings/ particles from the machining process at the factory. 2. Proximity key can be activated by a high end code reader that can go into the onboard computer and turn on or off optional features...but check with the legal department, lol.

I literally had my 167k mile 2010 GMC Sierra 5.3 oil analysis performed by Blackstone this month. Mine has a stock 5.3 LC9 with a newer (24k Miles on upgrades) non-AFM cam, LS7 lifters, Comp Cams pushrods, upgraded Summit Racing trunion bearing rockers, and new LS3 oil pump. My ppm for iron was 58 vs this new engine so that is very good for an all new engine. Small world after all. Good specs indeed Andre as far as I would know. Comment on this if I am wrong. Thanks for the great content TFL.

I understand that for the price, things like keyless entry should be a standard option. That said, a lot of the bad sounds like a 1st world problem and can be easily overlooked, definitely a very fun 6k miles so far. :)

For those complaining about the scratches in the IP, they're not there. What you're seeing is the reflection of the flappy paddles in the sunlight. You can see it disappear when Andre is pointing to the mileage figure later on.

@@883kodiak My understanding is some manufacturers say 2500 some say 1000 because modern motors are partially broke in. My favorite mechanic of 30 years likes to wait 3000 to 5000 and the first oil change. Me personally that's how I would handle it at least 3000 and 1 oil change. Just my opinion with 203,000 trouble free miles on my Titan and still going strong.

I have a 2021 Laramie and I was wondering when I could tow my camper. Owners Manuel says “does not recommend towing before 500 miles” witch makes me think it’s ok to tow after 500 miles because nothing else is said about waiting any longer. I personally feel like 500 miles is way to soon. I won’t be towing until next year.

@@herbertpearson5665 - driving it the way they have it will have had some repairs , but it will make it no problem. (And I don’t like Ram!! Heh heh. I am a realist though.) you get it and not have to drag race it against all oncomers, 100,000 miles out of a supercharged motor is not unrealistic at all. There are a lot of 5.4 and 6.2 Raptors out there with super chargers and over 160,000 km (100,000 miles). I was able to see a lot in my career in law enforcement and I have 2 friends that have 6.2 supercharged Raptors with over 75,000 miles on each truck. No issues. Ya just can’t drive it like you stole it! Haha.

I still think the only party trick is the 702 HP. ... Another channel did a desert road run with their Raptor and a friends TRX. The TRX kept running hot, and the fans were overtaking the quiet fans of the Raptor. I think Ford provides a better screen for tactile utility. And there’s OTA updates! ... Nice video! ... No keyless entry for that price? 😳

Man I have a TRX and this truck is stoooopid good. 702 HP, daily driver that can haul 5 passengers and 1,000 pounds of mulch. Every time I drive it I'm giddy like a teenage girl. Really bugs me the instrument display is scratched up like that already. Detail tip! Gotta use compressed air on the interior hard surfaces BEFORE you wipe with a damp microfiber cloth.

Excellent Video, I have a huge interest in the TRX, so many people are talking about 8 and 9mpg, however they drive them like a race car (stop and wide open). I would love for you all to do a REAL WORLD test filling it up, getting on the highway and putting the cruise control on 64mph for 100 miles, then refuel, and see what the mpg would be. I predict the TRX should be able to get 15---17mpg, but can't find any videos of people driving them "normal".

It gets like 13/15 MPG. Which isn't terrible for a 6,000+ pound, 35 inch tires, wide truck (has a wider and stronger frame than a standard Ram 1500 which gives it a wider wheelbase for better baja capability just like the Raptor) and has 702 horsepower from a supercharged V8.

Holding up well so far. Good engine, the supercharged 6.2 and NA 6.4 may be the last great V8's from Chrysler, and 6.2 is one of the last supercharged engines. Muscle trucks are replacing muscle cars. Only way to get a body on frame RWD V8 and faster than 60s and 70s muscle cars.

Impressive, but 6k miles really isn’t much at all. Let do the review at 20k and see. Love the truck! But almost at 100k on my 2013 Raptor and not a single flaw! And I take it from Illinois to Moab and Death Valley every other year. Drive both ways and only issue once was bolts on a Beadlock ring. Very interested in the TRX, but want to give it a little more time. But awesome truck! For a Ram.

@10:25 Keyless entry means the key fob is transmitting a digital signal all the time that depletes the key fob battery not to mention it would be at risk for hackers to steal the ID for key duplication! Ram thought this one through and now you know!!

Done Fins N Things a couple times. That trail is all about approach angle, departure angle, and wheel base. You can take damn near anything on wheels through Fins N Things if it's not a bus. lol The fact that the TRX can do Fins N Things doesn't impress me. I've seen old Land Cruisers, 4 Runners, Tacomas (even double cab long bed versions) do it.

Really liked your intro. scene with the hedgehogs and the take off down the road. Interesting. I do like the exhaust note sound. I appreciate the interior quality. I am not in love with the whine of the supercharger. And the price is not worth the experience for me. lol Less than 6K miles on it and it already gave you an attitude when trying to drag race it. lol Would be interesting to see just how long it lasts before warning lights come on and has to go in for repairs.

Yes. I hate that about options. I just want the heated steering wheel or just add the mud flaps. Oh no no no, you have to get the convenience group 2 (jk) with the headlight washers if want that heated wheel or just adding mud flaps. I feel like just buying the base model then learn from the forums what hacks to do and how many trips to the parts department until I finally have the vehicle I wanted in the first place.

Yeah limp mode aka electrical issues are normal for ram. Depends on the day and time. Mine keeps saying the key isn’t detected and I just ask the truck why did you unlock the door then? Or I have to put it in accessory mode first then push the brake and button to start it but that method never fails

My 2006 Charger has the same intermittent loss of power. Happens every couple of months. It will stall numerous times in one day, but self corrects with in a day, and will be good for a few more months. (Loss communication with trans code). Just things that happen with Dodge products.

Happens with every brand. From imports to domestics. I'm typically the one throwing the scanner on it and checking them out. It's also typically moisture in the ECM/TCM or a sensor plug. Just fyi. Dielectric spray works awesome.

I wish they would bring back the Dodge name. I really take pride in my Dodge. It doesn’t do them justice to take away their history. I’ll never buy a Stellantis vehicle unless they bring back Dodge trucks.

@@adampennington8954 the trucks are all actual dodge parts, they wont use any fiat parts in it, the engine is all dodge, it has been around before fiat was ever involved
