I remember getting my engagement ring cut off. It wasn't the most expensive, but it wasn't cheap either. This was years ago not with my current husband. Accidentally put it on the wrong finger after putting lotion on. I wasn't used to putting things on that finger. So I guess I was just putting it on any old finger LOL. I didn't have nobody to cut off me and my finger was doing about the same thing as is what you were saying about yours. So I ended up in the ER.. which was so embarrassing! The doctor they're cut it off. But I end up taking the ring back and getting it back together by a jeweler. Always glad to see you post a video! Your optimism about everything helps me stay positive with all my health, ailments, and others things going on in my life! 😘

I have a Smartdrive! Before I got it, I was absolutely terrified of it. But when I tried it out, I was blown away! I can't imagine my life without my Smartdrive now. In the beginning I put the maximum speed low and the acceleration low as well, so you don't go too quick when you're starting out. After I got used to it I put the maximum speed higher but the acceleration low. Because, at least for me, it was kind of hard to adjust the speed to my liking when I started too fast. And keep in mind that you don't try to make small turns because it is hard on your hands and joint because you have to grip the push-rims too tight. And I always where wheelchair gloves, because you have more grip and you don't have the friction with your skin, but that depends on the person. I hope this helps a bit and if you want to know more you can message me!

I have the freestyle libre too and I always find that it's giving wacky readings. Still do the finger stab. Love the ability to scan as many times a day as I want but now I'm thinking that of the readings are off..is there any point in dropping $100+ on 2 (I have insurance that covers a big chunk) or just go back to stabbing my fingers...

I have a smart-drive and mostly I love it, I can go further and stay out longer with it, and it’s made a big difference to how much my shoulders dislocate. You can set the speed and acceleration lower to start with until you get used to it. Also the amount of force needed to tap, so you don’t set off by accident! Instead of trying to grip the wheel to steer, I push downwards with the heel of my hand (nearest my wrist) on to my push rim, so it doesn’t pull on my finger joints (my OT said not to wear my finger splints when using it because of the chance of de-gloving). When you do a tight corner be prepared for it to speed up, important in shops and busy places! If you go up a slope that’s too steep it will just stop, and it’s not supposed to let you roll backwards... but you do anyway. If you hit something with your front wheels, like an uneven flagstone, and come to a dead stop, the unit can push you upwards and flip upside down, so you need to get out of your chair and take it off and re-set the bracket on your axel (because it pulls it downwards too far), annoying and it always happens when you don’t have time to mess with it (or the floor is wet...). It’s great that you can use it in the rain, but if you go through a puddle it can flick water upwards on the back and under your chair! When it’s cold the batteries drain really fast, like in 15 minutes (probably not as much of an issue in AUS, but if you go to somewhere cold, good to know). But... My smart-drive stopped working when it was only a couple of months old and took over six months (ten I think) to be repaired and returned to me. The batteries (it takes two) only have a two year life expectancy and cost £1100 (UK) to be replaced. The unit itself has a five year life expectancy (it took me five years to save up for it!). Once you get used to it you won’t want to go out without it!

Awe... Hi guys! You all are so sweet. I haven't had to use a mechanical chair yet. However, my family and I have joked around about, putting a lawn mower motor on it, and racing around. LMAO! We're kinda serious about it though. I'm sorry, you haven't felt well luv. Lots of luv your way, and best of wishes for your well being. Also... I'm SO SO HAPPY for y'all on your beautiful home! You both deserve it so much! I think it would be amazing to hang out with you guys! I'm sure you hear that a lot so, I don't mean to sound Corny. Lol! You have been such a great inspiration to me. I have struggled for all of my life with health problems. As do my 2 sisters. However, you, and many, have been through SO SO much more, that I feel selfish, and inconsiderate for complaining/saying anything. I'm SO excited to see who's next on the calendar! I am looking forward to Dumbledore, showing up as you are! Lol! I have insomnia as well, and my pain keeps me up all night. Therefore, if you ever want to talk, I'd luv to chat with you. Really, the only time I can sleep is durring the day. It sucks! Also, the more stress I'm under, the less I can eat, and sleep. I've tried to help my son, who is 21, several times but, he is an addict, and achoholic. He break's my heart because, he treats me SO SO poorly. Anyways.... That's enough of that. Lol Please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Bless you, and your family.

I had this happen with one of my rings lately! My finger swelled in the night randomly and the ring on that finger started to cut off my circulation. I had tried everything to get it off. Ice, soap, lotion, creams. My dad had to snip it off too. It was a $80 ring and because the metal is so soft, trying to fix it will only cause it to break.
