Quick question for you, im wondering how the 15h shift is build up like. because 6h working time + 6h working time = 12h, (incl 2x 4,5h driving time) then 12h + 1h extra driving time is 13 h. then the 1,5h mandatory breaks (because 10h driving is 2x 45min). that totales up to 14,5h doesn't it? Am i just missing that last 30 min somewhere?
@StabStabStabStabby3 жыл бұрын
There's no limit on "other work" drivers can do during a 15 hour day as long as their work time doesn't exceed 6 hours without a 15 minute break. Lots of drivers split their 45 minute break into 15 and 30 if their "other work" is approaching 6 hours and they still have a lot of drive time in their 4:30.
@Deady20123 жыл бұрын
My day went something like this.... Other work at 3:30, start driving at 3:45. 7am 45 min break. 9am waiting to be unloaded 1 hour break. Drive 11:30. Stop 12:30 15 min break, eat food. Drive 3 hours, 30 min break. Drive an hour, get to site load up, secure load, set off, drive 30 mins park up 18:15. Rest at 18:30. 9 hours 1 minute off, other work 3:30am start driving 3:45. Repeat. BCAA supplements are pointless if you eat, you get more than enough BCAA through food. However, and this is very important, deady fasts when he wakes up for hours before eating breakfast. This is literally the only time a BCAA supplement is worth using, during a period of fasting after waking when no source of protein is in your body. Also I wouldn't put too much credence in what bodybuilders say. They don't gain their physiques from using supermarket supplements like fish oil and BCAA powder.
@Deady20123 жыл бұрын
The key word in everything you are saying is ‘Supplement’ Everything Supplements one another. I know what bodybuilers do, i was one, i also prepped with a Nationals competitor, i saw what he ate. What supplements he used & where he shoved the needles. I’m not un-educated in Bodybuilding or Nutrition.
@StabStabStabStabby3 жыл бұрын
@@Deady2012 Sorry if my post came off that way, I did not mean that you did not know what you're doing. I meant that bodybuilders are often disingenuous about supplements and their uses because they get kickbacks from supplement companies or even sometimes outright have their own supplement company. Also while bodybuilding takes dedication of body and mind, it's not very difficult to understand the principles of progressive overload to build muscle. Most bodybuilders are not nutritional scientists and often parrot things other say, or "broscience" as it's usually referred to.

@Deady 2012 you do you pal, f**k the haters they're just jealous. I'm 51 and have made my mind up (thanks to you) to finally do my HGV. I should've done it twenty year ago instead of chasing the money as a gas fitter (f**king hate it). My Mrs didn't want me on the road all the time, but she passed away a couple yrs ago so now all I want to do is spend the next 20yrs tramping all over the place, maybe long distance across Europe who knows? Thanks for the inspiration. Btw that accent you heard down in Plymouth is a "janner" (Plymothian) accent, I lived there for ten year in the naughties. Brought back memories, and yes it is a cracking place to live and you didn't see the best of it.

I like the way your traffic lights go to Red/yellow before they turn green. I've never seen that before. Is it ubiquitous in your neck of the woods? It's a good alert. I wish we had that system here in the USA.

@avlisk3 жыл бұрын
@@Deady2012 Here in Phoenix, Arizona, we have counters that show how long until the light turns from green to yellow. It's at the crosswalks so pedestrians know if they have time to cross. Oncoming drivers can also see those signs, too, and judge whether or not they will make the light. Not all places have such a system. I would guess that most don't.
