Honestly, I thinks it’s just due to the lack of good items to start. Auto attack warriors kinda relied on starter items and items like ichy/stone cutting sword. Now that none of that is in the game they just don’t have many good options to start really. Best three I can think of would be golden blade, asi, or the t2 trans/dominance start.

AO build looks very similar to Elleon AO conquest guide so it makes me think he was trying to follow that which would tell me he doesn't play AO often or at all (not that elleons build is bad)
