Honestly theres tones of players like this, once they figure out you can’t deal with the fundamentals properly, they will just start their simple mode. I wouldnt call it scrubby, King players also do this alot. Why would they start playing too risky if the simple stuff works. I mean you being a Bushin rank and loosing to Law doing mostly his ‘T7 green rank’ stuff, thats on you cause Laws lows are one of the easiest to block, and throws well🤣 You either know how to break it or not. I can tell you that this Law is capable of doing more than what he did to you bro.

Tons of uncofrotable matchups that you see like in one out of 100 games etc. But hey, even tho ppl like ti trash on this game how defence isnt rewarding, i think thats pretty stupid. Sidesteps are much better now and overall we all have to adapt on new things even when using character we know for so long so. People wont say it out loud but me being a Tekken Emperor i get mauled like you in the video as well. Its normal to loose, doesnt matter to which character or what he did, someones gotta take the L everytime, not a big deal.✊

Combos are awesome and I love them, but joining tournaments made me realize that you do what works. I played some pick up games before my last tournament, and there was this dude that broke every single grab I did with King. I beat so many people that don't know how to counter throws with King. The way this guy played seemed cheap to you, but it was extremely methodical mix ups. That's how I use Asuka. Anticipation is key. He knew when you'd be blocking and went for grabs. Way better than the guy who eliminated from my last tournament. I didn't even practice cuz I didn't own Tekken 7, just Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2, so I had a hard time adapting when he was using Geese and started spamming slow ass fireballs. It's still a legit way to get beaten, but way shittier than your opponent here.

Oh, and one more thing... High level players will absolutely cheese you to death if they realise you can't deal with it. So your whole "these moves don't work at a high level" mentality is misguided. Sure, they won't try this out of the blue against a player they perceive as strong based on rank but they will absolutely use these against you if they figure out your knowledge gap.

I understand the frustration, I've lost to many players like him as well (I'm Fujin rank) but G. He 2-0'ed you. You can't go and tell him how he should play (especially due to a rank of all things). It's up to you to adapt and punish and you didn't. You can call him a scrub or trash or whatever, but I highly doubt that this person who spent $70 like we all did is gonna see you get frustrated and go "Hmm, maybe I should play the way this guy wants me to instead". To me scrubby behavior by your opponent is something like lagging the connection when you start giving them the beats or not giving you the run back when the 1st set was 3/2 and you know u cracked the code to beating them. 1) how are both you and him at these ranks? I've literally fought red ranks who are better 2) I used to get mad when losing to players like that until I realized: I'm the only one to blame. Yeah they play like shit but whose fault is it if they get away with it? You didn't block a single dragon tail, you tried to launch with df2 stuff that were not launch punishable. Whenever you ducked a string, instead of launching them you just did ws4,1+2. Whenever they whiffed instead of launching with said df2 you just did a hit engager. You literally ate every single throw. Ok, I get it. He was on wifi, maybe the connection was ass but still you could have won if you had a tiny bit of knowledge of what's punishable and what's not and how to optimally punish each move. Also, players like that usually have 0 defense so just smothering them usually does the trick even if you have 0 knowledge. Guess who sucks at the game when you lose to someone you can clearly see they suck. You have the right mindset, keep practicing and you will beat these players at some point. Small piece of advice, whenever you lab a character, always lab their cheese FIRST. There's no point in labbing Bryan's frames if you just eat the snake edge and die anyway.

to answer 1) due to the much larger amount of players that are either new or playing casually, your average player is far worse in tekken 8. meaning in theory someone with green rank skill could match against green ranked skilled opponents all the way to fujin. Hence why in Tag 2 purple rank was equal to about tekken god in T7 if you asked someone back then, because there were so few players and those who did play were far better on average. In a vacuum rank is only determined by the average skill of all players, and if the largest majority of them are new or bad then the gap between the lowest and highest ranks greatly decrease.

While I agree it's bullshit, that's the game, practice against Law build a stronger defence to his nonsense by building muscle memory to his animations, In Tekken 7 a lot these flips and other simple cheese used to be -15, so I just launched them for every unhinged move they threw out. Not the case anymore though, moves have been adjusted to -14 or -13 on block which kind of sucks. The grab breaks are on you though bro, mine are pretty terrible too but he was doing generic grabs that could be broken with either 1 or 2. When you said you ducked you were getting hit by the mid which guarantees the high follow up. I understand the frustration bro, but sometimes that frustration is what makes us play worse.

This Law is garbage tbh. I'm a Law main. You definitely need to lab blocking Snake Edge/Dragon Tail. It's extremely reactable and if you block it you can genuinely make someone lose the round because they chose to throw that out. On top of that though? Most of those were just generic throws... you're in light blue ranks, you shouldn't be getting owned by those at all. It'd be a bit more understandable if it was a 1+2 break, but just press 1 or 2 dude. He was awful.

I would say learn the match up and how to punish. He was doing a lot of punishable move. Most was launch punish too
