DISCLAIMER: the person in this video gave his clear consent to film and publish his comments.
Maksim is a former prisoner, he was recruited into 'Wagner' in the autumn of 2022. The curators promised him money, and Nazis were in rule over Ukraine. But the man's attitude dramatically changed after he got to the front line. Prisoners are treated like meat, according to his words. And the regular Russian army works only as execution detachments in the rear. Hear the confession of Maksim in our exclusive video.

@Peter from NZ the rider in relation to the prohibition on displaying POWs or publishing images of POWs is that they must not ridicule or humiliate pows. This rule was inserted into the geneva conventions after ww2 (part of the 1949 geneva III amendments from memory). It was inserted in response to two little known events: first, the death marches the germans subjected british (but not french) POWs to in 1940, following dunkirk and the surrender of british units in le havre and calais. Those death marches involved parading british pows - many of them severely wounded - through french cities and german cities and shooting many of the prisoners (wounded and men who strayed from the march ie men who fell out of the march line to accept food from civilians) along with french civilians who tried to help the POWs (these british POWs were poorly fed and not provided with medical care. Many died en route). Those POWs were not permitted to wash or clean themselves on the march - they arrived at prison camps in the same clothing and condition they were captured in. These atrocities are not well known about, probably because the germans committed such a huge list of atrocities during their modern wars (this also happened in ww1 but in much smaller scattered incidents). The second set of incidents began in 1944 when the germans started parading allied POWs through german cities and allowing german civilians to assault them without restriction. Some of that was filmed amd you can find it on youtube or the internet. Its sickening. There were no cameras or video devices like we have today. Videoing of POWs in this manner was not contemplated in 1949. However, the geneva convention provisions on the treatment of POWS does NOT prevent the non-abusive, voluntary videoing of POWs or the publication of those videos. That simply not what the prohibition is aimed at. This prohibition applies equally to casualties (again due to the 1940 atrocities against British POWs). There are separate provisions in geneva III regarding the duty to keep POWs safe and well cared for.

Ukraine put a policy in place last year that those who want to surrender and not go back will be protected. This guy should be in a mental trauma hospital, and observed, because he clearly needs help, but may not have as good manners as he seems to, once his initial shock is over.

Sledgehamners have been being used for quite some time by Wagner. The things they do in other countries, including Ukraine... in Syria recently... You wouldn't be able to sleep well for a while. Russian police are no better, routinely raping people with broomstick to terrorize them into compliance. Pretty women vanishing off the street taken by police. Russian military is full of men being raped by other men, and some who accidently discover an officer in a gay act with another man are put into the most dangerous positions, since Russians are homophobic at a fanatical level. I don't understand the people who even want to visit Russia, even for the old European architecture portraying a culture that is long dead.

There are very few. Russians themselves will tell you that if you talk to those who aren't under the influence of any propaganda, including soft propaganda. Russians are largely apathetic to brutality against others, and in the case of Ukraine, often rather bloodthirsty, and commonly alcoholic, dishonest, and regarding politics as a majority completely uninterested in acting as citizens. The 2024 election will be an act of theater like the last couple of decades, done for show, and Russians simply refuse to look the situation in the eye, preferring to look away. If you tell Russians what's happening, they already know things are going terribly wrong, but they look away even more. It's always absurd to me hearing people in Western countries who have small groups that like to make huge noise complaining about the 1%, when they clearly have no clue that the system they want to promote is the real evil - the one that exists in Russia.
