@@wudduplele Not even silver little guy. Second, you have players such as Mango, Cody, Leffen, etc. all talking about how oppressive he is. He's currently mained by half of the top 15 players and using Coinbox as an example, he saw 1 in 5 usage in the later stages of the bracket. He's just not designed well, simple as that.

You don't see a lot of RoA 1 top player complaining about Kragg or having too much trouble with the matchup. Call me crazy but that sounds like they know the matchup better. I have over 5k hours in RoA 1, i'm about to hit plat with Wrastor. I don't struggle against Kragg, simple as that.

Ranno has the slowest sideways air movement by a lot which makes u need sick platform movement to make shit work, top rannos like luck, codek, squanto are all sick as fuck since u need to be to make the character good Cant do lazy sh aerials in neutral like the rest of the cast, every ground move is hella cc-able, has practically no diskointed hitboxes, expressive combo game with pretty much everything being a di mixup. Mang0 complains about dthrow usmash on di in which zetter also has lol. Projectile that is only really good for approaching, terrible to camp with Idk why hes saying ranno is gimmicky when the only thing he has is bubble in a game full of gimmicks, all his other moves and traits are hella standard. Zetter has dumb shit too like his fair comboing into itself at any % while also being a kill move (7:12 lol)

The more I see rivals the more it just looks like rip of smash character move sets with a diff skin and some unique mechanics. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t design unique characters instead of having every Marth tilt and smash and arieal

There's only so many combinations of moves you can give a character in a 2D plane. They embody archtypes found in smash but the characters themselves are fairly unique all things considered. If they feel like hybrids of what's established before, that means its good. Turns out Melee is a well designed competitive game so if you try to make a good competitive platform fighter it'll probably turn out like Melee by necessity! :O

Just know that currently Rivals has a small cast and the characters that got chosen were in part chosen because they are the more accessible and basic characters. If you want to see how insanely unique and diverse the rivals1 cast was I recommend watching an older vid called “Part 3: character overviews - Rivals of aether” by a creator called Farbanti. There are characters in the 1st game that I literally do not feel mentally equipped to play because they are so unique that it feels more like learning another language lmao it’s also just a really entertaining and well done video, I have watched it every couple months for like 2 years lol
