My biggest issue with TikTok is that fact that non black people or black people occasionally, glorify white people for NOT being racist. Saying that a white person is invited to the “cookout” because they aren’t racist, is ridiculous. It’s lowering the value as black people, making it seem like we will accept anyone just because they aren’t racist. You should not be glorified for not being racist. I find it weird how when someone skips over a slur when they're lip-syncing a song all the comments are like "omg king, thank you for not saying it" and just generally praising them as if this shouldn't be expected. I deleted Tiktok yesterday for this exact reason. Back then, Tiktok was a fun app. People expressed their creativity, and it was truly an enjoyable app. But now it’s just people imposing their political views. I can’t explain how many times I have seen sexism, racism, homophobia on that app. While I was on tiktok I lost touch with reality. Truly the most negative, toxic, and harmful app.
